Same. I started today but it's light work for a couple weeks. So if we want to do this, we should do it this wipe or next.

we should definitely start doing this soon, while i still have time before classes start to pick up.

I was hoping to get this thing started next official wipe, which would be the following Thursday, February 2nd.

  2. I honestly don't believe we need a specified leader tbh. I don't see any positive effects to having a single person back at main camp saying we need more rockets, we need more walls, pls go gather, here's who we're attacking tonight, etc. Input on what the village needs next is definitely important but I feel like that's something everyone can chime in on. If any disputes do happen to break out, I'm sure I and other neutral players like Trav and Junzou can mediate them.

I do agree on needing raid leaders though and our more experienced players can fill that role. Zerging gets chaotic real fast and we're totally going to need shot callers. I once teamed with Karma and some inexperienced players for a 10 man raid and teamspeak was awfully loud-- just imagine having 30+ people in there (which reminds me that we'll need to do some raiding boot camp before raiding [= ). Raid leaders can totally help alleviate that problem.

Gathering in my ideal camp would be done by everybody. With zergs back on sG Rust, I'd simply say how many rockets I gathered and made, another group would next, then the last group: from there we target the largest base that we believed we could take on with the pooled rockets. Splitting up loot has never been an issue as usually there's so much stuff to go around and I feel like this system would work on official as well; splitting up loot shouldn't be an issue at all since we're all on the same side now tbh.

As for the small stuff like components+materials, I feel like gathering squads would be the best way to go (unless you're just bored and wanna wander around gathering of course). With how populated official servers are, if you take more than a few steps outside your door then you're 100% going to find someone or someones. We can Walking Dead that shit: watch eachothers backs while they're gathering; safety in numbers. I'm not opposed to a dedicated gathering squad, but make sure at least one of you can kill people [=.

As for base defense, I do feel that if someone wants the walls of the village done a certain way then we can definitely have a base defense team that works on the wall design. Getting the village walled up will be a major milestone and the sooner we can get on that, the less time we have to run around trying to find a spot to settle without getting absolutely dicked on. We definitely need a person focused on the walls from the get-go -- it can even be with high ext. wooden walls since they're amazing in early game official.

What about a village setup? separate codes, but we all work together in the same "yard" ?

That was what I was thinking of myself if one big building wasn't favored, since we can still have our own small groups if we wanted with this set up.

  4. I was wondering if anyone was interested in starting up a compound on an official server after a wipe. Rather than us shooting eachother, we can all group up and take a world together as a huge zerg. It honestly sounds fun raiding with 20+ people, or chilling in a huge base that we all work on and sleep in together. We don't even have to be on at the same time: visiting the sG headquarters on an official whenever we're in the mood sounds dope AF. Mabey you're in the mood for official but don't want to start up solo -- our base would be the perfect home for anyone in this situation, which I personally have had in the past. Some players on our servers prefer to hop in, build for a few, then hop off; others like to constantly farm and raid. An sG base on an official server would work great for both playstyles. I know some people who play on our server are also playing on official on the side -- I think it'd be awesome if everyone instead banded together and ruled a server.

The one and only downside to this might be a small loss of playtime on our server, but like above, some people are already spending time on two servers so it might not even be a loss at all. Even if you don't have the time: I've seen plenty of people chill on our server until other groupmates pm that it's raid time on an official server -- a call to arms system like that should let you play on both servers just fine since being on for raiding time or defending a base from rockets are where the major fun of Rust is at. It also means people don't have to choose between playing the two servers and can just hop on the official server whenever something's going on. Rustafied (major official server host) has monthly wipe cycles as opposed to our weekly ones -- that's plenty of time to play on our server as well as an official one imo.

We've all been shooting at eachother for weeks now and there's been a lot of grudges growing between our own community members and friends. Others have 20+ friends shared on the map but aren't technically "teamed" with them (since we don't want 30 man clans on our 50 pop server). With everyone suddenly on the same side and our small world invading an official's, we can definitely mend some bridges and have a damn lot of fun while doing so. Leave a message below w/ your thoughts or if you're interested so we can get some beds going if we do decide to have a base on a server.

EDIT: We're likely going to start up the sG village base next official wipe, which will be February 2nd (Thurs). The server is still being decided on -- if you'd like to recommend one then please post below.

    Spoiler

I love that one of Disney's first moves with the series is to close up the tiny loophole where the big bad evil weapon Deathstar is destroyed super easily  -- and they do it in a way that shows while it was a simple task, a lot of people were sacrificed in order to get the intel for it to happen. Props to them for a neat and original story. I also agree with character development being fast and that also being necessary but shit, one of my favorite characters was the force sensitive asian dude and I had to google the movie to find out his name. I know his name was said once or twice but I don't think the other asian dude or the defecting pilot's names were ever spoken. P sure I need new panties after seeing that lightsaber unsheathe though.

  6. Wasn't home for the event, feelsbad.

Cman definitely isn't in the wrong here. Totes merely said she was on her way to the church with mats. This does not mean that

    1. She isn't going to kill anyone on the way.

    2. Cman knew it was her until he shot her.

Even if it was against our server rules to kill her at this time, there simply is no way of knowing who someone is ingame unless you are standing literally right next to them. We're expecting Cman to not shoot any anyone in the vicinity until he runs up to their face -- in any and all situations, that'll get you killed in Rust. The one scenario where Cman's actions would be questionable is if he downed her, took her shit, then killed her as her character was screaming. Even then, it's simply Rust: if you don't kill someone to take their stuff then the next person they meet will. It's hard for me to criticize Centran for his actions since I don't know his experience with the game but Rust is savage AF,

I'm not gonna lie, I play games like Rust and DayZ specifically because I like ruining other peoples' fun.

I take their fun, and I move it over with my fun.

precisely describes what the game is and how people play it. If there wasn't protection during the wedding, it guaranteed would've ended much sooner than that. God-moding like that to kill a player was definitely abuse.

We didn't handle the event as best as we could tbh: I'm assuming a no-kill-zone was created for the duration of the wedding. If we were going to use admin commands anyways, why not simply spawn items and create the church like that? I wouldn't find that abuse at all if it was for an event; it would've at least have been a better answer to Totes' death over noclip-godmoding a player. ily centran

We are in the process of adding a couple of admins to the server, this should make it so neither group has to deal with each other directly, both parties should do their best though to keep things civil.

Hopefully they aren't picked by karma because you know she only going to pick people who agree with her.

She asked me and I helped raid her so there's that. I don't play enough to justify saying yes to it tho.

  8. Jiffy's fucking retarded. But while I get that Sweetie just wanted to bring her kids to hang with us, our toxic AF rust server is like the one place she probably shouldn't have gone to do that. @sweetrock if you want to play Rust with kids, I'd probably suggest playing on a server that has PvP disabled -- those are pretty abundant. Or if you'd like another game similar to Rust, you can try out ARK. It's got all the building and crafting of Rust with motherfucking dinosaurs that you can turn into pets. Most people in that game help eachother instead of kill.

I can comfrimed this, he just scammed my today

Are you for real cause legit his aliases were all some random name and then Eddy's. It was painfully obvious it wasn't him. I thought Eddy was in on it so I didn't bother to send a message when he added me but if he is begging around with Eddy's name like that we should probs do something about it.

  10. Does buffing speed mean the chopper will fly its routes faster and then be done with sooner? I'd be down for el monstro leaving the air sooner, I like having armor and bows equipped.

  11. I hate the new leveling system :c. I got like 6k sulfur and couldn't make any gunpowder at all with it, feelsbad. AFK farmed and I still only got to level 17, please make my rust tyranny easier and vote 3x.

  12. Every wipe I make a Stay Cool pic, man I love that sun.

This wipe I made a clan themed sun, my favorite so far

My airlock is like 3-4 foundations long so I never know which one's the exit -- this sun warns me that it's dangerous out there.
