This has been brought up a numerous amount of times. The reason this currently isn't done is because I'm afraid it'll discourage new players from learning ct, or playing all together. However, one hour is quite short. I'm willing to give it some thought.

Sorry if I sound like an asshole for restricting what a new player can do on an sG server, but this is kind of annoying to deal with. The amount of MFK, FK, "I dunno how to warden/don't want to warden", and "AFK freeze/drop weapon or ill kill you" completely slows down rounds and makes other new players leave and never come back.

Solution: Require 1 hour of total playtime (non-spectator) before one can join the CT team.
Example: "Hello and welcome to sG Jailbreak, you must have 1 hour of playtime on this server before you can join the CT/Guards."

I believe this would improve the quality of each round and reduce the amount of unnecessary killing and incomplete/"illegal" (AFK freeze) orders.

believe me, the current computer is 20 times better than my 7 year old computer, which sucked. I used it until I got this one. It was my grandpas and he gave it to me because he no longer needed it. Plus I dont need anything personally but a better gpu since I play csgo most the time.

So you guys may or may not have noticed the drama that happened over the past few days. Some of you may know what is going on from one side, some of you guys may know what is going on from another side, and some of you may have no clue what is going on. This post is to explain to you, our community, what exactly is going on from our point of view.
As most of you may know, Mitch and Toxygen recently stepped down from their positions on staff here at sG. They are now a part of a new community called SiJ, or Samurais in Jeans. To my understanding, and those of you who are a part of SiJ correct me if I'm wrong, is a private community. They are basically a group of friends on the internet who have their own private forum and whatnot. Kind of like Bros or GS or what have you. SiJ's staff consists of Mitch, Pork N Chili, Sakata, Sandy Balls, and Toxygen. Clay as their engineer and I suppose Salv as their equivalent of an advisor.
Now for all of you guys who are concerned about dual-clanning, don't be. This community can be friends with other communities. For many years now, our rules have not changed regarding this matter. If you are on an sG server, sG tags go first and that is all, everyone can be friends.
SiJ, had they simply been a group of friends like Bros or GS, then everything would have been fine. You guys might have seen some of the SiJ members here say something along the lines of "you guys[staff] seem to think SiJ and sG are mutually exclusive". That is not so, we do not think that, we do not necessarily want that, we do not require that. SiJ orginally stated that they are like GS or Bros, and since they do not have servers are not in competition with sG, and we acceptted that for what it was worth.
    Apparently not much

However, a red flag went up when staff heard that KGame was recruiting people from our community to go to SiJ, but we brushed it off. It didn't seem like something we needed to worry about.
A few days down the line however, staff catches wind of this conversation from an SiJ member. You can read various SiJ member's response to this member here: http://www.joinsg.net/topic/53527-calling-out-eddy/
Here are a few snippets from this conversation, and SiJ members have been quick to point out to me that we, sG Staff, have taken this conversation out of context, but if anyone reading this could put it into a context that makes these statements ok, please let me know.
This began as a PSA by Toxygen on SiJ forums...

The message from Mimic was a reiteration of rule 10 of the SO Guidelines.

    (Staff leak)
The responeses in that conversation started by Toxygen is what caused us, the Staff, to act the way that we did.

    A threat of DDoS...

You could imagine my surprise when windmill reacted the way that he did when we demoted him from his SO position.

A plan to "take" all of our, and your, SOs.

Mimic decided that simply demoting them was enough, but as some of you may know, I decided to remove these SOs from the clan entirely. Was I overreacting? Perhaps, perhaps not. Also, Mimic told some people that I was "drunk" when I removed these people from the clan, I just want to make it clear to all of you right now that I wasn't and I can own up to my actions without faking alcoholism, unlike some others. I fully understood what I was doing, and I felt that the action I took was the right one.
Moving on, soon after the demoting of a few members, we got word of another plan in the works on the SiJ forums.

Now, one of the main complaints that I have seen from SiJ members is that sG is no longer what it used to be. Our community, our servers, are not what they used to be. I have been here for a long time, and I can say honestly, that this is true. Things change, games get old, games get boring, people grow up, people's interests change. All of these things are undoubtedly going to happen, and we can't stop that. We can only change in a way that, hopefully, makes this community strive.
So I ask you now, what do you guys, the community, want from us as Staff. How can we be better? Do we even want to keep the servers online? Do we want to be just a forum?
Although we as Staff keep this community running as best we can, this community would be nothing without you guys. You guys are the substance of this community, and as such your opinions are needed for us to decide how we should change this community so that it can continue to strive.
P.S. As many of you have noticed, there are now a few SO and Staff positions open which need to be filled. We will be looking to promote some people to these positions shortly. Also, a new server is in testing and when it opens, we will need a few SOs for that server too.

I love this server, but the biggest issue is 3 maps in constant rotation get really repetative and old fast. Is there anyway to add some more of the minecraft maps from custom over? If anyone is willing to provide me with the materials needed, I'll even learn how to make a map! Anything to get more then just 3 maps on the server.

So recently I realized that despite the name you don't actually do a jailbreak in the game. You can break out of your cell and kill the guards but you never actually escape the prison. So I thought about it and thought "what if the prisoners do have a chance to escape? " and the idea for this event was born. What we could do and by we I mean the loyal mappers of sg, is to make a totally new map where the idea isn't to play games or rebel it's to bust out. There could be ways hidden to both the ts and cts that would allow the ts to escape. It would have to be difficult and take some time. With brainwork involved. The guards job would be to watch from the corners of the map (like guards actually watching the wall) and try to prevent ts from performing the escape but not by just killing them. I'm thinking unless the ts get violent the guards can just tase them and the T gets re spawned in a hard To escape cell that would be like a puzzle to get out. multiple ways for the ts to escape and the more ts that take a specific escape rout the more ways the prize gets divided between them. T's have to balance the need for help with challenges with the desire to keep more of the prize. Maybe the mappers can even fit In a way the ts can turn on eachother. I think this would be very hard to do and take alot of the mappers time but it would be very fun and original

End of Reality is announcing the upcoming migration of our Chicago facilities starting July 22nd, 2014.

All Chicago servers will be migrated to our new Chicago location; a higher-grade Tier-III and SSAE16 Type II accredited facility, this enterprise-grade facility offers increased power availability, access to additional upstream transport providers, a 4x increase in network availability, and improved environmental controls. Additionally, we will be implementing new core routing infrastructure from Juniper to ensure that the absolute best stability, uptime, and service quality is provided to you and your customers.

This posting today serves to let you know about the upcoming extended maintenance window related to servers located in our Chicago facility as a result of this consolidation. We will be physically migrating all servers located in the CHI3 facility to our new Chicago location starting from July 22nd, 2014 . Our team is currently reviewing the finalized logistical planning which will ensure a smooth transition; we expect that all servers will be moved and the consolidation will be completed by August 15th.

We will be contacting each client with services in CHI3 individually with a specific date of migration for any impacted servers on their account.

Starting July 22nd, we will begin the migration process. Each system will be powered down, transported to the new nearby facility by our engineers, and powered back up. We estimate that the process will take approximately 4 hours to complete for each server, although additional time may be required, and we ask that clients plan for downtime of up to 8 hours in case of unforeseen issues. The migration will continue each evening, beginning at 8PM Chicago Time (CDT), and ending each morning at 4AM Chicago Time (CDT) until all servers have been migrated.

I will keep you guys updated on what our specific time period will be.

I was banned from all sG servers with the reason "racism/loopholing" by Ruffles on the Vanilla TTT server after trolling for a couple minutes with me making jokes about white people. Now I understand that there are certain rules and I will stop trolling if it is that serious, but a week ban is beyond excessive for something like this. I'm not some random who just joined a server to troll (in which case a ban to this extreme would be more justified), I've been playing on sG servers for over 3 years and at the very least the ban should be reduced.

I told you to knock it off before as I know you just enjoy to troll the players and rustle jimmies.

I'm not sure why you're appealing against the ban. Acebats can vouche for me as well.

Your response to the ban was "I don't give a fuck." Well, that's what Acebats was telling me because you went to Custom TTT afterwards.

I banned you for a week because, like I said, this isn't your first warning and other SO's of vanilla have told you to knock it off before.

I just suggest you stop being a troll and dick in the server when you join. Then there wouldn't be a problem.

Also don't listen to these morons! You don't even need the power switch. I mean it is useful if you are always turning your computer on and off but who does that these days? Just take a screw driver and touch the pins you would plug that switch into. Now you have a powered on computer and don't need to worry about the power switch.
