What's making you choose infantry? 106 isn't bad. See what your individual scores are and what you qualify for and research it. I know there's some pretty badass MOS that aren't infantry, but are attached to it, so you'll still get the "combat arms" feel, if that's what you're wanting. Example is Forward Observer(Call in Artillery and Airstrikes), Combat Engineer(Kick in doors, blow shit up, IED finder), I'd say medic, but Navy use Naval Corpsman for Marines medical personnel. Don't let your recruiter talk you into anything other than combat arms if that's what you REALLY want though.

Let me tell you something as an Army Infantryman...Your GT score will matter in the infantry(At least in Army infantry it does) I had gotten to my unit about half a year ago, and my original PLT SFC was going "Your gt score?!?! Wow, looks like we found our new RTO(Radio Telephone Operator) Those guys who have the huge antenna on their backs and always get shot by the snipers in movies. I was like, "Wtf, my GT score was ONLY 113, and I hadn't even studied for the ASVAB" and that was even just a 70th percentile. They put me as RTO for about a month, and then switched me to the HQ Platoon in my company into an intel position since my GT score was much higher than the company average. Guess what my companies average is?....mother fucking 98. If you have a chance to retake the ASVAB for a better score, then freaking do it, because GT score matters(At least in Army) for getting tasked to do certain things or schools. Example: Air Assault School, Airborne School, Pathfinder School(Especially that one), Ranger School, Sapper School, and other classes or ranges you might get put into. Also look into the other MOS's other than infantry, I say this because most people can't stand being in the infantry and hate their lives, you'll be treated like shit, pt hard, work hard, and the shit will be smoked out of you for months the moment you get to your unit. It's an entirely different world. The one thing you can say about the infantry compared to the POG MOS is that it WILL challenge and change you mentally and physically. Careful on the reasons you're going into the infantry, because if you're going into it because you want to be a badass, I assure you, civilians won't know the difference between a grunt and a pog when you tell them what you do.

Does anyone play any of the games in the wargame series? I have them all from European Escalation to Red Dragon but I want people to play with. I'm pretty bad but I enjoy them and if anyone wants to try them out theres a major sale and you can get the entire series or individual games for low prices. The series is a really good rts focused on cold war combat with the ability to play as any major military power in NATO or the warsaw pact with China and the other Asian military powers added in Red Dragon. Theres thousands of units of all types and it has a pretty cool community and a focus on multiplayer. Like I said anyone interested to play just post here with your steam or add me.

All kinds of shit disqualifies you right now. The Air Force is the hardest branch of the military to get into right now, because their retention rate is the highest of all the branches, and have to under-go large personnel cut backs. They're literally ASKING for people to volunteer to leave that are within a certain window of time of their ETS/EAS date. I'd say look into ALL the branches. What is it that you're wanting to do exactly? Odds are if it's not a desk or mechanic job, then you're going to have a bad time getting what you want in the Air Force in its current state. If you want, you can ask away, because I had researched for years upon years on every branch before I enlisted. I'm literally full of mother fucking knowledge.

Dunno, joining any of the military brances for the benefits is stupid I would say.

I'm not saying I think ww3 is gonna break out but this whole situation is reminding me of the lead up to ww2. Think about it. Germany hosted the Olympics in 1936 I believe or around there just like Russia just got done hosting the Olympics. The lead up to ww2 happened about 20 years after the collapse of the German Empire and Nazi Germany was a successor state. The soviet Union collapsed about 20 years ago and Russia is it's successor state pretty much. When Hitler took power in Germany he slowly stripped the peoples rights just as Putin is doing in Russia. When Germany annexed Austria his excuse was that they were German speaking people. Just as Russia is possibly annexing the Crimea due to its Russian speaking peoples. It occurred a few years after a major economic situation. The depression for ww2 the recession for the present day. I understand that there is a lot of differences but someone tell me after reading the points I made that I am crazy for finding those similarities.
