I mean, some things are still broken like our electoral system, the pharmaceutical industry, and overpriced college tuition and textbooks, but overall I'd say we're doing pretty well. I don't find it too difficult to believe. Trump is candid about what he thinks, or at least what he wants people to think he thinks, and he exudes confidence. Although I see him as just a rich blowhard running for president as a way to stroke his ego, I can't say I'm surprised by the fact that he has a strong following. Hell, if he actually had some good ideas I'd probably support him.

I'm actually not sure if I want Sanders or Trump to win at this point. I genuinely like them both. A Sanders v Trump would be a dream election, instead of the lesser of two evils you get two good candidates. When does that ever happen?

Trump is literally the worst candidate you could ask for, he's running his campaign like hitlers. Look at the similarities, he isn't running for dictator he is running for president. Hes racist, sorry but this is america you can't restrict someone from coming here because of religion, it's fucking stupid and ignorant and that alone should be enough for him to not be a serious candidate, but because of the lack of education and the amount of racists in the south it's the only reason he has momentum. He wants to "lessen libel laws" but if he did that he more than anyone could be sued, pretty much every word out of his mouth isn't true.

 

He acts like a 3 year old all the time and people want him to run the strongest country in the world? People would like us a hell of a lot less than they do now.

 

He has no experience with anything besides bankrupting businesses and ripping people off. He walked into his wealth, anyone in his position could have had the success, he didn't start from the bottom he was handed the top.

 

The world would literally go to shit, if anything he says he wants to do happened, becoming president isn't some joke and you shouldn't act like one when running for it.

Although Trump has some very bad ideas, I think comparing him to Hitler is ridiculous.

 

Hitler rose to power under the banner of socialism (Nazism) during a time of extreme socioeconomic turbulence. Germany was devastated by the outcome of WWI and the German people sought a hero to rebuild it. In this respect, Roosevelt had a lot more in common with Hitler than Trump does, since Roosevelt was faced with many of the same problems due to the Great Depression and ended up enacted many of the same policies as Hitler. But along with his good ideas which lifted Germany out of depression, Hitler (and more specifically his advisers) had some incredibly terrible ideas like invading Poland and prosecuting the Jews. Bad ideas are something Trump and Hitler have in common, but to that end you could compare any politician with whom you disagree to Hitler.

It really is similar, people are looking for someone radical that is completely different than how politicians have been acting for years and in their minds need someone to rebuild america. Although america is better off than it has been under any republican in recent memory, they are in the same mindset as those who supported hitler.

 

Not to mention all of his proposed policies are incredibly similar to hitlers, he is feeding into anger and at this point no matter what he says or does will change his supporters mind.

What policies are similar?  I fail to see the similarities between Nazi Eugenics and what Trump proposes, except that they're all=around bad ideas.

 

And all politicians try to utilize people's hopes, fears, and angers. What Trump is doing isn't unique.

 

I mean, people compared Obama to Hitler when he used executive power to push through the ACA, saying he's just another power-tripping socialist who wanted to create "death panels" etc. The comparisons were as nonsensical then as they are now.
