Our current surf server is doing extremely well after I went through and fixed some issues. The server was originally a skill surf and sat dead 24/7. There are as many as 15-25 skill surf servers in the top 100 in CSGO and only 4-5 of them are always full. As I mentioned you may feel that sense of obligation to go populate the server and you may be telling the truth that you will play all the time alone in an empty server. It takes as many as 3-4 dedicated people to constantly populate a server (simply playing isn't enough).
 
Ask Groov, Trucka, Kevinbotz, MC. They were my original SOs for ZE on my last tenure on staff. I pushed them extremely hard to populate ZE to allow it to be successful. All of them put in probably 5-6 hours a day on the server with inviting their friends and adding every single person who joined the server to a steam group to spam events to attract people back to the server. As well as myself who had to babysit the server by ensuring the server was always up and balances were made to keep people playing and coming back. The server was top 5 in CSGO before I left staff due to RL as well as being burnt out. Now it is our least popular server. Server population is extremely difficult to hold and needs constant attention. In all honestly SOs/regulars keep the servers alive more than the engineers. The only time the reverse is true is when something breaks and isn't fixed right away it causes the server to crash and burn.
 
Getting back to the point. Skill surf is out there. Majority of the servers are using a great timer plugin and have mappers who ported skill surf maps to their server. They have a very dedicated community built around surfing. Hell, one community is currently running 5 skill surf servers and 4 of them are fully populated majority of the time. If you want to skill surf there are plenty of servers to go join. If I made one it would literally be the same exact thing as the other servers. The only difference would be is our in-game store has more items than the majority of the other servers out there, which wouldn't make any real difference. There is no room to customize and make our server different to attract people. The only time our skill surf server would do well is if a CSGO update comes out at 1am and we update before the others do.
 
I am not ruling out the possibility entirely. Hell if another staff member wanted to devote their time to do it all the power to them, but in my experience and opinion it would be a dead server that would eventually be forgotten about. Same goes for a ZM server (on CSGO).

Please just withdraw your app. You aren't too bad in-game, but no one knows who you are. Now you are going to leave the final two weeks of recruitment and expect to get votes based purely on posting? Keep playing, apply in September and you may get in. I don't think you are bad in-game, but you just applied way too fast. I am also disappointed you didn't take my advice.

We had a four-engineer meeting to discuss this and a few other things today. We're going to try something new for necklace. Instead of adjusting cost or what races it is restricted for, it is going to protect against ultimates until 50% of the players are dead. After that it will deactivate until the following round. 50% is a value we came up with on the spot and could be tweaked.
 
The idea is this allows people to buy necklace on knife races like goldentail so they can distract without risk of being entangled or having other ultimates used on them for half the round but not after bomb plant or when the hostages are being rescued or when the round is winding down.

Dude had a good run but is an idiot for doing what he did with the vid.

Well the only obvious thing that comes to mind is trying to memorize what the professors says or writes...without copying it down in your notes. Or even worse, not taking notes at all. I made that mistake myself a few times and while it didn't dramatically kill any of my grades, it did lower an exam down from an A to a B+ because I was too lazy to write down something I thought I would have memorized.

Also use ratemyprofessor for all of your classes. You'll probably end up with a professor that's too demanding, difficult, or just plain old bad if you don't use this site eventually.
