Heyo, it's gca again. Do any of you guys have any strategies specifically for utilizing the special items/weapons. It's rare to see newton launcher game play or use of items such as the binoculars and such. I do believe if used right these could get a major advantage on certain maps. I try to use them but most often than not I fail. The knife is kinda used but I refrain from it do to the easy access dna it leaves behind. The newton launcher is risky as it's not a garenteed kill, but it can be pretty useful in some situations like in dolls, same with the visualizer. Anyways, post your own uses for the items/weapons below as I'm sure it will be a game change during game play.

Last night (since Vanilla was down for some weird reason) I decided to head over to Custom and play on there for about an hour before I went to bed. There's a few commands that I really don't think Paidmins need to have, and heck I'm even fine if you want to remove it for SO's.
!rocket and !trainfuck
As these commands can be cool to use, I noticed some Paidmins would use them every time the round ended (and sometimes when the round was in pre round) and they would !rocket or !trainfuck the rest of the people alive.

 
Luckily Deer Man and the other Paidmins that were doing this were respectful enough to stop once I told them to stop. But seeing how tempting these commands are, I really don't feel there's a need for them. Especially seeing how some people in the game were complaining about it.

Could just be the starting screen, it takes hella long for me to load it up which also makes me think it crashed. Also when you're on the starting screen, don't press anything, it makes it crash for me.

I'd be down to hop in. I voted for modded, on the one condition it isn't crazy easy. I think insta-craft, or 100x resources is way to game changing, and pretty much defeats the purpose. I'd be ok with maybe a 2x or 3x resources.. I'm not sure how stuff is coded, but I'd be willing to even look into doing some custom stuff.. Like we could have "abilities" per say, where you could have 50% increased crafting speed or 5x resource gathering for the next X amount of seconds/minutes, and then it goes on cooldown. I know some people would probably use their abilities, afk/leave until it's off CD, and repeat, but that would be OK with me. It would still pay off for those players that dedicate their time, but also give people who don't play a lot a little bit of room to catch up. 

So last weekend, Centran and I got a test rust server going and it was working fine. Garry finally decided to start supporting the linux server build so it gives us the opportunity to start a server if there is interest within the clan.
 
If we do start the server would you prefer it to be non modified or modded? And if modded what mods should we look into. (There are two catergories for both non modded and modded servers with in the server browser)
 
I also have no idea how many players we can realistically support before we start having performance issues so I guess it would just have to be a trial and error thing.

I personally only play on the modded servers because I played vanilla for about 3 hours and barley even got a shit shack together. I just like to play modded because there's more pvp and base raiding. But it seems like majority of the people just want a regular server with no mods.

So with the upgrade to IPB4, we see the merger of display names and usernames.
Because of this change, some users have seen their names change back into their username.  If you want this changed, please post in this thread.
Something to note: once your name is changed, your login details with change with it.  Please keep this in mind when trying to login after a name change.  (You can also start using your email address instead of a username to login)
