Can there please be a way to dismiss or postpone a reply to a report until the round ends so you can open the MOTD for rules or the damage logs in console? I don't know if the report system is coded in-community, but it'd really help out.

Booch reacted to Mimic in Hey, It's been a long time.
I thought I'd just stop by and say hello to my favorite Steam community. It's been a long time since I've last been on this site (I believe I was last active in the summer of 2009). As (some) of you (may) remember, I tend to go inactive in this community (be it Undead Vengeance, or Syndicate Gamers) for long periods of time, be it due to technical difficulties, or just falling out of interest in certain games.
First off, my name is Jacob, I was a part (per-say) for a long time, during which I was a rather active member on the Warcraft #1 server. I'm currently 17 years old (as compared to being 14 when I started in this community), and I'm a senior in high school.
As for my inactivity, it's been due to multiple reasons. Here's a list!

During the '09 to '10 school year, I was mostly busy with school work; however, I sometimes took time to play various Steam games with close friends.
During the summer of 2010, I became a staff member (namely: Game Master / Senior Game Master) on a World of Warcraft private server, the former Impact-WoW/Dominion WoW/DXG, where I was a member for four years prior. Unfortunately, due to inactive developers, the server was shut down due to players losing interest in the server.

I can't promise I'll be as active as I once was (when I actually spent time in the community) due to school / college prep, however, I will try to stay as active as possible. I hope I'll have a fun time getting to know all the newer faces around here.

    Rust - Rules and Guidelines

    General Rules and Guidelines:
The sG Global Rules: http://www.joinsg.net/page/motd/global and Guidelines: http://www.joinsg.net/topic/10417-syndicate-gaming-global-guidelines/ apply at all times. Read the rules, failing to do so could lead to consequences. Attempting to loophole or loopholing rules will lead to admin punishment. All punishments are up to admin discretion, no set punishment is set in stone for any rule broken. All the rules are subject to change and interpretation by the sG staff at any time without prior warning. Admins will not interfere with PvP or raiding but will spectate if an individual believes someone is hacking or cheating. Glitches:
To report a glitch involving movement or teleportation through walls, rock bases (bases glitched inside of rocks), or new glitches not yet discovered - report the situation to either Vexer or Karma through a PM. These glitches will be treated as cheating. In general, “glitches” such as boosting by jumping on another player to access high roofs or climbing between tight corners of a base (A.K.A. “spidering”) are not against the rules. In an effort to align our server rules with those of most official servers, this will not change. Hacking/Cheating:
If you witness or suspect someone of hacking or cheating, contact either Vexer or Karma via PM to report the person. If that person is online, they will be spectated. If the person is not online, please make a complaint department thread and post supporting evidence of your claims, following the proper complaint department procedures. Do not call out hackers in the chat. The person in question will know they are going to be spectated. Also, you may be incorrect and your false accusation may be believed by other players, even if it is not true. Paintings/Signs:
No pornography is allowed on the server. (Follow the same guidelines as forum signatures and custom sprays.) No inappropriate trash-talking in your paintings or signs (see below for details). All signs can be monitored for both ownership and edits. Trash-talking/Flaming:
This is Rust, we understand that times get heated and there’s no better way to show your anger than some good ol’ fashioned shit talking. However, please keep all comments non-personal and game-related. If you have a complaint about an admin or moderator on the server, take your complaint to a private message to any sG staff member, who can investigate and review the complaint impartially. (This type of trash talk especially hurts the server, as random players who are not yet a part of the community, see our server in a bad light.)

Punishment/Consequence Procedure for the Rust Server:
*Reminder: Punishments are not set in stone and are up to admin discretion. This is only a general outline for the punishment procedure for violating any of the server/global/general rules..

    Hacking/Cheating:
Anyone found guilty of hacking or cheating will be permanently banned from all sG servers.

    Paintings/Signs:
Warning and removal of painting/sign Ban and removal of painting/sign Banned, removal of painting/sign, permanent removal of any URL posting privileges.
    Trash-Talking/Severe Flaming:
Warning Mute Kick Ban Teams and Alliances
Max team size on the server is currently 4, passing this all your progress will be wiped. Alliances are only allowed for PvE such as Heli's, Oil Rig, Large Oil Rig ETC. If you get caught raiding with more than 4 people your progress WILL be wiped.

    Ignorantia juris non excusat

Ignorantia juris non excusat[1] or ignorantia legis neminem excusat[2] (Latin for "ignorance of the law excuses not"[1] and "ignorance of law excuses no one"[2] respectively) is a legal principle holding that a person who is unaware of a law may not escape liability for violating that law merely because one was unaware of its content.
European-law countries with a tradition of Roman law may also use an expression from Aristotle translated into Latin: nemo censetur ignorare legem (nobody is thought to be ignorant of the law) or ignorantia iuris nocet (not knowing the law is harmful).

    Explanation[edit]
See also: Promulgation and Promulgation (canon law)
The rationale of the doctrine is that if ignorance were an excuse, a person charged with criminal offenses or a subject of a civil lawsuit would merely claim that one was unaware of the law in question to avoid liability, even if that person really does know what the law in question is. Thus, the law imputes knowledge of all laws to all persons within the jurisdiction no matter how transiently. Even though it would be impossible, even for someone with substantial legal training, to be aware of every law in operation in every aspect of a state's activities, this is the price paid to ensure that willful blindness cannot become the basis of exculpation. Thus, it is well settled that persons engaged in any undertakings outside what is common for a normal person, such as running a nuclear power plant, will make themselves aware of the laws necessary to engage in that undertaking. If they do not, they cannot complain if they incur liability.
The doctrine assumes that the law in question has been properly promulgated—published and distributed, for example, by being printed in a government gazette, made available over the internet, or printed in volumes available for sale to the public at affordable prices. In the ancient phrase of Gratian, Leges instituuntur cum promulgantur ("Laws are instituted when they are promulgated").[3] In order that a law obtain the binding force which is proper to a law, it must be applied to the men who have to be ruled by it. Such application is made by their being given notice by promulgation. A law can only bind when it is reasonably possible for those to whom it applies may acquire knowledge of it in order to observe it, even if actual knowledge of the law is absent for a particular individual. A secret law is no law at all.
In the criminal law, although ignorance may not clear a defendant of guilt, it can be a consideration in sentencing, particularly where the law is unclear or the defendant sought advice from law enforcement or regulatory officials. For example, in one Canadian case, a person was charged with being in possession of gambling devices after they had been advised by customs officials that it was legal to import such devices into Canada.[4] Although the defendant was convicted, the sentence was an absolute discharge.
In addition, there were, particularly in the days before satellite communication and cellular phones, persons who could genuinely be ignorant of the law due to distance or isolation. For example, in a case in British Columbia, a pair of hunters were acquitted of game offenses where the law was changed during the period they were in the wilderness hunting.[citation needed] In reaching this decision, the court refused to follow an early English law case in which a seaman on a clipper before the invention of radio was convicted even though the law had been changed while he was at sea (Bailey (1800) Russ & Ry 1).
An alternate explanation of the origin of the maxim, though not particularly relevant to the modern context, can be found with the philosophy of the Greeks and Romans. These were cultures heavily influenced by customary legal systems. Within such a system, law is learned as a person participates in the culture and customs of the community. Thus it is unreasonable to believe a person could have avoided learning them. These rules and customs were also interwoven with ethical and religious dialog so that laws expressed what is right and good and deviation that which is not. We find that Cicero wrote the following in De re publica (On the Republic):
"There is a true law, right reason, agreeable to nature, known to all men, constant and eternal, which calls to duty by its precepts, deters from evil by its prohibition. This law cannot be departed from without guilt. Nor is there one law at Rome and another at Athens, one thing now and another afterward; but the same law, unchanging and eternal, binds all races of man and all times."
    Plato wrote similarly in Minos:
"What’s right is right and what’s wrong is wrong. And isn’t this believed by everyone ... even among the Persians, and always? ... What is fine, no doubt, is everywhere legislated as fine, and what is shameful as shameful; but not the shameful as fine or the fine as shameful."
