Also, the Canada Geese are fucking pests. They're not a national bird and are actually only called "Canada Geese" because some Swede by the name of Carl Linnaeus decided to call them that back in the late 1700s and I guess it stuck.
 
Is this picture supposed to impress upon those of us living North of the border a feeling of sadness or resentment? Those birds number in the plenty, they're noisy, can be quite vicious towards humans and shit everywhere. To add to that, their shit is so full of bacteria that it can pose a health risk to humans. In fact, one of the parasites contained in the shit of the Canada Goose is the same parasite that caused an outbreak of disease in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1993 that killed around 100 and made ill around another 400,000. tl;dr - More than likely that Goose died of other causes and the Eagle just showed up to scavenge some dinner.

I think the actual problem here isn't "oh the policeman dun goofed cus they shot when they shouldn't have".
The actual problem is that the mouth-breathing retards on places like Reddit just think "aww look at the poor doggy, dat man dun shot it so he a bad man, lets go cry about it on the internet", when in actual fact the policemen were making the right decision in removing a potential threat when it made a lunge for his goddamn balls.
The result of this is that the entire thing gets blown out of proportion because it was an animal being shot, not a person, if it was a guy moving towards his friend instead of a dog with his master, he would've been whistling through a hole in his forehead before he got half as close as the dog did.
