  1. SO's on War3 have it easy, pretty much don't have to do anything. Although I think more of them need to take initiative on helping newer players learn the ropes and not just say "type !war3" or whatever. [SO] Current duties: Give cash, no racism, ban blatant cheaters. That's it. half of them are afraid to lay down a ban as well because they don't want to lose their precious [SO] title.

Idk, I feel that should be the SO's duty (not exclusively) but I mean what other responsibility do they have over regular admins? They should be the first ones taking the initiative to introduce the players to the mechanics and commands. Most common questions I hear is "What is this server", "How do I use my abilities", and then usually leaving because they feel like they got killed by something unfair/didn't understand.

Throwing it out there but every new player to the server that has under 20 levels or something gets a +100 health bonus or something? Just spitballing here.

The only time I think it is a problem is with spicy chicken or agrippa rushing on archimonde. Even then its only one kill. Most maps restrict skyboxes, so you cannot get to spawn at start with teleport anyway. It would essentially be a nerf on all races with movement skills. New ideas are always helpful though, just my critique.

Pretty much this, I don't want to slow down the game play and have new players be like "why the fuck doesn't my movement work" or you're stepping out to peak and then your 150% speed kicks in and you're in the wide open grabbing your ankles waiting for agrippa to pop into your ass.

I would very much like answers for this one.  There are some pretty ridiculous things that can happen with fire nades.

Would you then say that bunnicula shouldn't be getting the additional damage on fire?  Cause that's the direction I'm hoping you're going.

    Already been hotfixed by Mimic.

    RIP 2 knife races

  5. Right now, apparently when I play a race things get noticed more or something.

So, Cannibal is my ROTD, I know a tactic to use is to a molly since it works well with the +30 damage from the ult. Quick ticks and quick kills.

Many other races w/ on hit-effects such as bash and +damage are also affected by this.

Is this intended, oversight and illegal, oversight and legal, or is this just bug abuse.

    People confuse me.

Ye, I heard it mentioned a few times, just removed my launch options and saw the cmd: 75.0/s and up: 64.0/s. So it just seems like they didn't configure for 128 tick at all. Kinda dumb you have to manually configure it like that but that's just the way it is, so I guess we just disregard it. For anyone wondering, my launch settings.

    -novid -freq 144 -refresh 144 -tickrate 128 -maxplayers_override 50 -nojoy -nod3d9ex1 +exec autoexec.cfg

  7. Someone mentioned that the server is actually at 75 tick, and it sure feels like it w/ the amount of blood splatters/no registry at times. I don't know the merit of it but I think it was something with the choke at 75 or something.

Keep crack house, if people don't like it then they shouldn't vote for it. Easy. If possible I guess prevent it from being #1 on the list to avoid spam? Doubt its possible but that's a fair compromise.

  8. I forgot to mention, I did reinstall Windows maybe a month or 2 ago? Had to reinstall CSGO (so fresh maps) and I double checked and made sure I had none of the maps. I did try installing a version of de_core and it clearly told me it wasn't the same version so that wasn't the problem.

  9. I was having problems connecting to de_core earlier today and apparently some other people were unable to connect to that map as well.

There have been some other circumstances with other people being unable to connect to other maps as well like de_conduit and one other one that is slipping my mind that I had problems with. I want to say that there is something wrong and it could be damaging to the server population as well, it would be appreciated if someone could look into this.

Little more details: The de_core was saying the .bsp was missing. The other map I had a problem w/ wasn't trying to download any files and just counted down the "continue" button until I got kicked back to the home screen.

  10. Hey, just minor complaint with the changes a while ago. Not sure if it's fixable to prevent abuse but it would be nice if you could buy items while waiting (not including tomes), to do small things like seeing what places you can get to with Sock or Long Jump on a map. You pretty much can't do much anything when no one is on to start that initial roll-in of people, a lot more people will join if 1 person is on rather than 0.

Like I said, it's minor and it would be nice to get someone to stay when no one else is on for some fun benefit to help pass the time waiting for people.

With the recent bhop movement plugin added onto the server, I noticed that there's an increase in player activity, it's a good thing but with the player slot capped at 20, its frustrating.

    Why no 32 cap ;(

Because 128tic took out the extra slots to my knowledge for server resources.

98% are just a radius check. It's not the end of the world, but your asking for an additional calculation (z axis) on a lot of stuff.

Idk what the server load looks like, but since War3 got its own server, is it possible it could take the extra load?

    Edit:

To add on to what face said, you're also talking about a very specific map. You even said people either leave or play the stupidly op races (for that map). Most of the abilities are nowhere near as strong on other maps. Personally I don't like crackhouse. I'd rather it be gone, but asking for balances based on a specific map as this isn't really worth it imo.

Z-axis still affects many multi-level maps just not as extreme as crackhouse.

  13. This is a tough one, with proper play this isn't a problem. On the other hand, with what people are used to, this is OP.

The whole thing about this bhopping is that it's a HUGE change to server balance, everything is much more fast paced. Due to the increase in mobility, knife races have seen the most benefit. But that doesn't mean that they're the only ones, everyone can bhop equally, it's just another personal skill that was introduced. Counter picking is going to be A LOT more important in this "meta", anti-mobility races are going to be more important than they ever have been.

Now, I wouldn't be opposed to a movement speed debuff when you have a hostage (if this is possible), but I don't feel a full normal move speed is called for. Look at knife races that aren't tanky, most people will avoid getting hostages due to the fact that they can't use their survivability/movement abilities w/ the hostage. At least w/ bhop they have a chance of surviving or rescuing the hostage, right now they would have to play mind games and completely outplay the person w/ a gun despite how much better they may be.

Well that was a huge rant that kinda gave my opinion on bhop, I haven't had this much fun in a long time. I am an experience bhopper and have many hundreds of hours on bhop servers, I think a lot of skill comes into play when navigating confined spaces such as doorways and hallways weaving properly as to maintain speed and going through the doorways. I like that it adds another element of skill and I would hate to see it taken away, the old movement just feels bad and sticky.

Just curious, what error / issue are you actually having?

When I try to load into a map, it will say the map.bsp (or whatever, can't remember) in the lower left at 25/50/75/100% then the continue will pop-up  but you're unable to click it, you will then go into the main menu with a message saying "Missing Map map.ext Disconnecting".

I wasn't sure since the map files are publicly downloadable, if we could get access to that entire directory and just download all the map files through FTP or something, if you wanted to get fancy I guess you could setup an SVN or whatever to automatically download from user end. Just some thoughts.

  15. Me and some other people have been having problems connecting to the server due to downloading maps, I tried console commands and no luck. I keep having to go to GameBanana and download the maps, this is just a pain when I keep having to do it for multiple maps.

Is there a way we can download all the maps for each server all in one go through FTP or just a zip? Possible to restrict it to user classes if you think it would get abused somehow?

4 megabits per sec and implying it's bad?! Shit, I remember back in the day when I was happy to see 100 kb/s download rates. I distinctly remember finding out one day that our rates moved up to 300 kb/s -- o baby what a day that was.

Back in my day, the internet used to make beep boop noises trying to get online. If you were always online, then you couldn't get a call from Family Video saying your VHS is overdue but you don't have the time to rewind it and bring it back in your Honda Civic because the newest episode of Seinfeld is coming up soon.
