When I first started playing CS more competitively, my cousins, friends, brother, and I used the tag -=HOT=- (a really popular Korean boy band) and used only Korean pop star names. This was over 10 years ago. Name's kinda just stayed ever since.

I thought of Blublub and immediately found the perfect picture to go with it by searching "Blublub" in google. I use this name now for the majority of the games and things I sign up for. I go by 2 names Cerobug or Prysm. I have used Cerobug for 10+ years and the story behind it is it was the first unique name I cracked on yahoo. Back in the early days of yahoo you could have capitals, underscores etc in your names and once they removed that ability the names still existed so we used programs to brute force those accounts and Cerobug happened to be the first unique I ever cracked. Prysm just sounded cool to me one day when I wanted to play other games than CS 1.3 and needed a new name.

Well, there is some history with this name, it's actually the only alias I use for Steam. It started back in the CSS days, back when UV was still a thing and the zombie server was awesome. I was trolling around different servers to see where I could get in trouble with different offensive names (mainly "Christian" gaming servers). I stuck with Lesbian Dad and would just harass them until I was banned. Then I found UV servers where I was not only complimented for name, but also welcomed for my HLDJ sound spamming which was shunned on other servers I visited.

 

I was always into monster movies as a kid, so I started with a combination of what I thought would be a good monster movie ... So that's when the movie variations began as "Attack of the Lesbian Dad" ... "Return of the Lesbian Dad" ... and even "Lesbian Dad goes to summer camp!"

 

Eventually I applied to UV and was accepted, so I just went with "Lesbian Dad."

 

However I could help not changing my name in game ... So eventually Lesbian Dad 2.0 was released! Patches, hotfixes and such were also put out: Lesbian Dad 2.5a ... this continued for a while until it just got too ridiculous: Lesbian Dad v15.8 Platinum SP2

 

From there, I just went back to Lesbian Dad. To this day I still get people telling me I have a nice name, even some have tried to imitate me when I am not around. That's the basic history of my name, I'll just leave out the "alpha" parts of that though for those who truly remember.

When I was younger I used to do a lot of art, and some of it (a pretty good amount, actually) typically involved either Titanfall-like Exosuits and Foxes, (red, Pomeranian, whatever.) Around the age of 13 I got this really cool concept for an EXOSUIT that would sort of resemble a fox, and it would allow you to have a fox's mobility and there would be a sort of HUD implanted in a chip linked to your brain to give you tactical suggestions and readings, an alliteration to foxes' cunning. I couldn't produce anything good, but I still walked away with this name.

My name originally went after seeing an old as hell game called Vampire Hunter D (will get more into that later.). The last part "Matakami" was something i made up in some of the one shot stories I used to write and I thought it sounded japanese and rolled with it. (Literally I just went "Yeah, that sounds asian." when I typed it up and went with it. ((inb4 everyone attempts to call racism, I didn't even know what racism was at the time.)) )

 

Back when I first discovered the great and vast network of the interwebs (and porn in general *cough* *cough*) I used the name DMatakami6 (i was stupid and thought you had to have a number at the end of your name to be on the internet) and over time I realized that I could just use D_Matakami or D Matakami and still get results.

 

Then it started getting crazy when those one shots kinda started coming together in my head.* At this point I started just taking the name D Matakami and shortening it to DMatakami as it would then work on all internet accounts and it was never taken, I even had it in an email address and to this day still don't get spam even after that email was leaked during the PSN hack.

 

*In fact I even went so far as to find requests and get lucky with some awesome pics. (as evidenced by this one which has now basically become my avatar for steam (Link) )

 

As to the irony of it all, Matakami actually does mean something in japanese. It means either "God again" or "Paper God". And by the time I figured that out I already had basically claimed the name for myself across the internet. Now irl I prefer to go by my nickname "D" because of how fond I am of the name.

 

Also, after finding that game some years down the road, I discovered it was actually based off an anime (which was based off a series of books.) and the badassery showed by D in the anime/game/books kinda spurred me trying to pay homage to it and eventually making something original.

 

I also technically go by two other usernames but I prefer people to find those on their own.
