Marvin 1296 Posted December 14, 2012 You could spend a few extra bucks and get faster RAM and a larger hard drive for storage. 500gb gets eaten up pretty quick.

Velo 2077 Posted December 14, 2012 (edited) Wait.. how much did you pay for that gfx card? I'd go with like a gtx 660 for now and use saved money for a better motherboard.Get something SLI capable so atleast you will be better off with your gfx performance down the road. MOFLSTOMP 899 Posted December 14, 2012 (edited) Wait.. how much did you pay for that gfx card? I'd go with like a gtx 660 for now and use saved money for a better motherboard.Get something SLI capable so atleast you will be better off with your gfx performance down the road.No...Just....no. The 670 is a powerhouse and well worth the moneyDon't go faster than DDR3-1600 for RAM if the price increase isn't that much. Once you go past that point, the price/performance ratio is terrible. Also, agreeing with Marvin, increase the HDD size. I'd suggest a 1TB Caviar Black for the added cache size, and then picking up a cheap 128GB SSD instead of the 240 to toss your OS and frequently used programs/games on.As for liquid cooling, you're a first time builder, so I wouldn't advise true liquid cooling until you do proper research and don't just buy one of those sonofabitchmotherfuckinglazyasshole enclosed CPU loops and claim you have liquid cooling. Grab a nice air cooler instead, until you have the budget to do a REAL liquid loop. If I had to suggest, the Xigmatek Dark Knight II Nighthawk edition. The white LEDs on the fan give it a nice glow, and my 2500k is OC'd at a stable 3.7GHz, with idle voltage of .975V on it. Plus the black ceramic coating looks sexy inside the case EDIT: If you're just gaming, drop to the 3570K and save yourself $100. Hyperthreading will add performance in programs that are designed to take advantage of it, which 90% of modern games don't. kyleisawesome555 11 Posted January 5, 2013 The motherboard is Z77 and CPU is 77W so you either need a different motherboard or a different CPU. Other than that everything works.
B-cock #1 641 Posted January 5, 2013 I'd recommend getting a Samsung/Intel/Crucial ssd, they just have a higher reputation for being more stable although Corsair has matured.
