  1. I see... the Staff Capitalist Pigs value the Paidmin dolla more than the time-honored members of this community.

Maybe its time for the rest of the community to wake up and smell the bacon.

L2&L3 have an immunity of 1

Vet's have an immunity of 2

VIP's have an immunity of 3

SO's have an immunity of 4

Basic has an immunity of 1

Premium has an immunity of 2

just wait til we extend the tenure requirement for vet again

  2. when problems arise with a paymin, they are dealt with by staff.  often their admin is temporarily revoked and occasionally they are prevented them from buying it in the future.  staff does not want or need rank admins to mete out their own punishments on paying customers.

your tenure in sg is hardly correlated with how responsibly you behave with admin privileges.  we as staff do recognize that the time people invest into this clan has value, and as such created the tiered rank admin privileges we have today.  i assure you that things could be far different from what they are now, and that i personally have gone to bat on multiple occasions to make sure that our rank admins have as many privileges as they do today.

L2 didn't even have admin until recently.

level 2 also requires 1 year tenure now, whereas it used to be 6 months with no admin.

  3. there are no active ip bans in our database that have been added within the last 3 weeks, and i can't find the ip address you used posting on this forums at all in our sourcebans.

your steamid does not show any results either.

would you please pm me the link that you followed?

  4. i know nothing about the map never being in the rotation, but coolness has already said that the map has been removed 3 times.  normally when we "remove" a map it is simply commented out of rotation, and not deleted from the server.  this is our practice to ensure that someone down the road doesn't waste their time adding a potential map to find out that we've already decided we don't want it, or it crashes the server, etc.

crackhouse was often a problematic map in the cs:s days, and although i haven't played the cs:go version, if it is anything like it was i don't blame coolness for removing it from the server.

all of that aside.  the people who work on the servers are the ones who ultimately decide whether a map ends up in rotation.  if coolness replied to this thread and simply said "i am a tyrant and crackhouse isn't going into rotation." that would really be the end of it.

  5. I was never given metrics for "drastically decline", the only metrics I have to give are that THE MAJORITY voted to go on the map. Was there a community vote? I didn't see it at least.

Like I said, if people don't like the map then they won't vote for it when it pops up.

server population when a map is being played is a valid metric.   straw polling users on whether or not they like crackhouse, as you have suggested, is a poor metric.

here are some concrete numbers for you: http://sg.gameme.com/maps/csgo

you can see crackhouse rounding in at #31 in the maplist, just behind a version of dolls that we used from june to august of 2013

  6. Just a minority of players don't like crack house (for whatever reason) and they make the most noise.

i'd be interested to know what metrics you used to come to this conclusion.  coolness has provided his which directly contradict this statement.

Let the people decide if we play crack house, I know you're war3 overlord but let the community decide on maps at least.

i think you're missing the part where he said the community decided 3x already

  7. I'll look into sticking a server up, if it's popular, maybe we can keep it, and advertise.  If not, we just dump it, doesn't seem all that hard to set up, if I wasn't going out in 10 min I would do it now

Note: Unfortunately, Patch 2.2.2 broke the dedicated server for Linux.

There is a work around, but it may be easier to wait a day or two for a new patch....

the "linux server" is really just a windows server that you need to run in wine

a number of staff members tried out this game when i hosted a listen server the other day.  i can't speak for all of them, but i personally don't think that this game has enough content to warrant setting up an official sg dedicated server for it.  like every game these days, it is still in early access beta and appears to have potential, but as it stands there is no real way to set up any sort of moderation.  as i understand it the dedicated servers can't be administrated at all, and in listen servers only the host can run commands.

there are a number of other issues i can see causing a problem in having a persistent world, such as cars not respawning and the very limited map size.

i'm intentionally not playing this game again for some time because i do see its' potential, and i don't want to kill it by spending too much time on the unfinished product and tiring of it before the game is even released.

if ctark wants to throw something up for you guys to screw around in so you aren't stuck with vexer's net, that seems reasonable assuming we can spare the resources.

  8. upon reviewing your appeal, multiple members of our staff have mentioned being forced to restrict you on separate occasions for your behavior on the ct team.

this occurrence may have been a mistake, as you have described, but the punishment seems to be warranted.  please be more careful in following the rules, and you shouldn't have this problem again.

    appeal denied

  9. 1. surf_mai_redone - the version you linked to is broken, and the most recent one i uploaded (in january 2013, surf_mai_redone_final2_rat) is also broken
    2. surf_colos2 - looks cool, we should probably test it
    3. surf_greatriver_xdre4m_d  - map was on the server for along with the other greatriver for over a year, someone must have decided they didn't want both and liked the other better
    4. surf_csgo_10x_v2  - been on the server since may 2012, was removed (likely to server crashing although i don't remember why)
    5. surf_aztec_ruins_xmas_pbfinal - literally a snow reskin of a map that is on the server

i have personally scoured through every single surf map on fpsbanana up until about 6 months ago, added every map that appeared worthwhile, and tested them to make sure they worked.  it is safe to say that every surf map on there older than 6 months has a reason for it not being in our rotation.

one thing i used to do as well was sit in surf community servers at like 4am when they were empty and just rtv through their mapcycle to pick up all the interesting maps.  the surf communities who port maps themselves do not usually post them on fpsbanana.  if you have any worthwhile maps from playing in other surf servers, let us know.
