Tremor in Peru

Recommended Posts

This afternoon an earthquake of 5 degrees on the Richter scale was felt strongly in Lima, Ica and other regions. It happened exactly at 4:34 pm and its epicenter was located just 41 miles west of Chilca, Cañete.

According to the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP), the center of the quake was under the sea and the phenomenon is most strongly felt in Lima, where the intensity reached grade IV on the Mercalli scale. The Tsunami Warning Center Pacific did not issue any warning.

Sources Trade realized that the phenomenon was also felt in Ica.

5 is not even that strong

you're an idiot.

every level up on the Richter scale is 1000x stronger than the one before. 5 is decent enough to do damage.

I live in LA, we get a lot of earthquakes here in southern california, and we literally wouldn't stop anything for a 5, maybe not even a 6. We might stop for a second, make sure it's not the "big one(8-9)", then continue with life like nothing happened.

7's can be dangerous

also for 1 single earthquake to change cali into an island it would have to be huge.
