C12K Presents at a Hackercon

Recommended Posts

I presented on online gaming addiction and how it manifested in the military population. I had fun this weekend and met alot of interesting people. The survey most of you filled out is somewhat related to this presentation.

I look forward to receiving feedback.

I enjoyed it, thought you brought up some interesting points. Wish they had a mic so I knew exactly what questions the audience was asking, but the way you answered them all I got the just of what they said.

That was pretty cool. Only got up to 8 minutes.

I might be slightly addicted. I find my thoughts drifting back games and shit sometimes. Not good

It's very good for the first few minutes.

Try to use the word "Alright" less.

It's one of those words like "like" and "anyway" that you shouldn't use.

Watched the whole thing, was a pretty interesting brief and you werent awkward standing up there and talking. It felt all natural and the comedy wasnt overdone, pretty engaging overall. Good topic to talk about though. Also props for the audience and all the questions.

Thanks foh. Yeah, the audience was pretty involved which made my job easier. I was surprised by the amount of intelligent questions the audience asked during my presentation. That made me feel the topic was appropriate for the venue.

OH

I liked it, by the way the audience reacted it seems you connected to them. Was it your first speech in a large audience?

No. When I was the CIO of a hospital I had a staff of 33 civilains and contractors. When I was a platoon leader I had about 40 soldiers. Crowds don't bother me.

Really interesting. I'm halfway through right now. Some of what you said definitely has some relevance to my life-- not so much anymore, probably. But, throughout my adolescence I definitely had some level of addiction. I think if I had someone point that out to me then it would have made growing up a lot easier.
