I'm well aware that the Navy has an Air Force. However, I would assume it's more likely to have jets launched from an air force/army base stationed nearby than from a carrier these days. Considering where the carriers can be positioned and the fact that most of the conflicts are closer to bases(farther inland) it seems much more likely for an attack to originate from land than sea.

Ikea workstations (Jerker, Fredrik, Galant etc) seem to be pretty nice for $100-250. Using a Jerker right now and I honestly can't think of anything else I want out of a desk, especially one I got used for $50.

I would imagine the tip would either be ground forces or the air force considering we don't do amphibious assaults in the current era. Most of the wars are inland. Marines could still be considered part of the ground though since their focus has shifted from amphibious to ground.

I hope you know that those jets that fly off of those carriers in the water most likely aren't USAF jets, they are Navy jets. 

In a traditional conflict the Navy would prep the invasion via air strikes. THEN the Marines would establish a beach head.
