  1. The 2 LE comp games I had today were beyond pitiful.

First game was Mirage, the entire enemy team was predictably equipped with R8s and because Mirage is such a long range map, they were able to effectively shut down every single execute our team tried to make on T side with ease. I was bad here yeah, but R8s from a distance should be not this damn potent against a team fully equipped with rifles.

Second game was Inferno. My GN games from over a year ago were more strategical and serious than what I went through here. Had 6-9 CT first half. Top fragger is the guy who was somehow finding success yoloing down mid with R8s and getting 2 frags half the time. When he wasn't getting those 2 frags, he was dying instantly and the CT defense at top mid would predictably collapse as well. Ended up winning this one 16-10 with a 10-1 second half T side. The enemy CTs despite holding Arches and Truck side as you would expect normally, were utterly helpless against Ts with R8s peeking from mid and preaimming their positions. Their $3100 M4s were no match for $850 pistols here. The one time they won a round was also the one time they had someone boosted on patio...with an R8 of course.

Kinda wondering what would happen if R8s were added to JB.

  2. Sure. When Valve finally increases the model precache limit for CSGO and other Source engine games in general.

Thing is and to every mapper's dismay, Valve likes to discretely add entities and stuff that contribute to the precache, and without increasing the maximum amount of entities allowed. Which led to maps like space jail, tower, and even lego jail crashing the server.

  3. Didn't JFK do this in one of his maps? hmm

Nope. The codes for the password protected doors on all of the maps that I ported are constant and do not change. All I did was give the digits for the password in the vent that leads to the password, which was the numbers in the order you saw them in.

I know it is possible to randomize a code and distribute hints for it throughout a map because zm_atix_apocalypse had something just like this.

  4. I was there when it happened. To be fair, I forgot what exactly you were restricted for since I was half-asleep but I do know that you were being incredibly obnoxious and annoying for several rounds before the restriction. Which is why I said something to effect of, "you got restricted because you were being stupid" to you in chat.

Of course in hindsight that probably wasn't the most mature response to give you, but I guess I was just annoyed at the time for some mysterious reason and took it out on you.

  5. This thread reminded me that I need to tell a certain head admin at SlayersGaming that the version of Canyondam they have is obsolete. We're already on speaking terms anyway and I fixed something in Spyder for him recently.

That isn't cool.  If you are gonna take someone's map, atleast leave it as-is.  We should go all MIA on those fucks.

That makes me feel bad about how I vandalized the original Canyondam and turned it into a dev map.

  6. I've already seen that man. I'm Israeli born and support and have always supported my home country completely.

No offense, but I didn't realize supporting your country meant reducing your neighbor into a permanent 3rd world refugee camp, and then act like it's such an outrage that they surprisingly fired a few rockets over.

Defending your country is one thing. However encouraging the bombing and slaughter hundreds of innocent civilians because a few militants killed a few Israeli's is completely outrageous. You're just fueling future terrorism and promoting the spread of extremist ideologies.

Now the ideal solution would be for Israel, Gaza and West Bank to unite into a multi-national state, where Palestinians, Israelis, Jews, Muslims, Christians, etc. are all treated equally both under the law and society. Unfortunately, at this rate it'll probably be 100 years or more before that happens. A two-state solution where the Palestinians are inevitably going to be tremendously poor in comparison to Israel and subject to their control is simply not going to ensure a lasting-peace.

  7. Just throwing this out here right now, what has Obama done in comparison when handling Russian aggression such as other presidents like Regan? Whine and spout shit. Also, not saying I support either side but can anyone remember what happened during the last election debate? Romney stated that our problem was still Russia, Obama then said shit about how the 80's are calling and want their foreign policy back. Oh, looks whats happening. Not saying that Romney wasn't ignorant but jesus fucking christ it grinds my gears when people don't even fucking research shit. It would also help if the German PM wasn't such a puss and actually helped back up the rest of Europe when it came to dealing with Russian instead of hiding behind her skirt because she's afraid of taking an economic hit.

    Fuck

I hate to say this but unfortunately, the situation in Ukraine isn't that black and white. Russia isn't being enabled to bully Ukraine because of America, or as certain politicians love to say, "Obama's weakness". This is about a Ukraine that has splintered into pro-Russia vs pro-EU. It has absolutely nothing to do with the US or their sphere of influence. Ever since the Russian Empire was formed hundreds of years ago, they have always been trying to assert their hegemony over Eastern Europe and in this case specifically, control over the Black Sea. What's Obama supposed to do? Send harshly worded E-Mails to Putin? Yes, it's sad that people are dying, but unfortunately not everything in the world can solved by simply involving the US or making aggressive statements that Putin would probably take as a compliment. Much less threatening war with a country that has nuclear weapons. Romney and McCain might have said otherwise publicly, but no one besides Sarah Palin is stupid enough to risk a war with Russia simply because shit is going down in Russia's backyard.

Now if Russian sponsored unrest was occurring in a country neighboring the US, someone in NATO or otherwise just very close aligned with the US, then you would be right that the US is acting far too timid here.

Russia isn't anywhere close as threatening as they were during the Cold War. That's why Obama laughed at Romney when he was trying to paint them as America's biggest threat. Because in reality, America's biggest threat is really China but even then it's nothing too serious because China has long long way to go before they can come close to seriously matching the US in terms of military strength. Hell, I don't think China can even take Taiwan as of now. Anyways, this whole debacle that's going on in Ukraine is nothing but desperate grandstanding by Putin wanting Russia to be recognized as a world power like it was in the past. Hell, Putin probably wants Obama to dramatically confront him because from Putin's perspective, it would make him look like a credible threat to the US and the West.

There's really nothing anyone could do here besides make more empty statements that Russia rein in the separatists. Or at best, supply Western Ukraine with weapons. Direct military intervention would turn an already bad situation into a complete catastrophe. The only people who can turn this situation around are the Ukrainians.

  8. http://www.democracynow.org/2014/7/23/headlines

Israel continues to bombard the Gaza Strip amidst talks over a ceasefire. Israeli military attacks today include the bombing of Gaza’s sole power plant and the heavy shelling of Khan Younis, killing six people and leaving at least 20 wounded. The Palestinian death toll is near 650, including more than 160 children. More than 4,000 have been wounded. According to Gaza officials, 475 houses have been totally destroyed, and more than 2,600 homes have been partially damaged. Israel has also struck 46 schools, 56 mosques and seven hospitals. Meanwhile, two more Israeli soldiers have been killed, bringing the Israeli military death toll inside Gaza to 29. A farm worker from Thailand also died inside Israel after being hit by rocket fire from Gaza.

What a phenomenal usage of American Tax Dollars. Breeding another generation of terrorists that totally have no legitimate reason to hate Israel. Oh yeah, not to mention causing massive collateral damage to civilian infrastructure.

  9. Well the only obvious thing that comes to mind is trying to memorize what the professors says or writes...without copying it down in your notes. Or even worse, not taking notes at all. I made that mistake myself a few times and while it didn't dramatically kill any of my grades, it did lower an exam down from an A to a B+ because I was too lazy to write down something I thought I would have memorized.

Oh yeah, don't count on your Adviser telling you breaking news.

Also use ratemyprofessor for all of your classes. You'll probably end up with a professor that's too demanding, difficult, or just plain old bad if you don't use this site eventually.

  10. The quoted accuracy on their ICBMs is +- 200Mi, LMAO, and thats the good, short range one.

Source : Popular Science Feb. 2014 Issue

That's assuming they can even get the rockets to launch. Their last rocket launch failed utterly when they launched one in 2013 when it exploded and crashed into the ocean.

North Korea wouldn't dare do anything other than these grade school taunts of war, because they know they would be completely defeated. Not to mention obviously lose their qualifications for international food aid.

  11. The Dragon is triggered randomly at the start of the round. There isn't a way to trigger it other than that.

This. I found it pretty quickly with the entity report menu and noticed that the Dragon is triggered on a 1/16 chance at the start of the round by a logic_case with a "startforward" input. I don't think it's possible to forcibly activate it ingame through the console since the dragon itself isn't activated through a console command.

If you want to see it for yourself in Hammer, just use the entity report menu to find the logic_relay named loto_rdragon. All the commands relevant to the dragon are right there.

  12. Not too surprised that the vote seems to be pretty evenly split.

Because of that, I'm just going to do what I planned on from the start...which basically goes off of what DarkPredator said.

I decided to move the speed-nade to a completely different area of the map. You probably aren't going to find it or the perilous passage its in unless you decompile the map, you spectate me going after it, or I tell you where it is. I don't plan on telling anyone...well too many people this time either.

And even if you do find it, you have to suffer through this in order to get it.

  13. Some people were saying that the speednade was too OP so I deleted it in my recent update to Canyondam. Said update also has a laser room that's glitched because I forgot to take the server's tickrate into account when making the map, but that's another story.

    Should I bring it back?

What else should I do with the map before I have to nag someone to upload another update later tonight?

  14. The 6th trap on deathrun doesn't spawn I think, it makes deathrun impossible.

(I'll check later on if no one's done so by the time I can)

Crap, you're right. There's supposed to be a block there that flips up when the button is pressed. It must been corrupted when I recompiled the map... Thanks toy.
