    We kept the original ads as homage to the original map maker, and to keep the theme of the map. I'm okay with fixing the bugs with the porting to CSGO, but I am not okay with removing the credits for the community and players that made the map possible in the first place. This would be like editting one of the LotR maps to not have credits or shout-outs...

    Probably because the damage is done by "world" in both scenarios.

    That's definitely fine then. I just don't want someone else stuck in a situation where they are punished because they did something they though was okay.

    There is way too much competition in Skill Surf for me to say we'll be able to populate it. Fortunately, this community has a pretty large background in Zombie-related servers in CS, so we actually have something to stand on for adding more servers. Unfortunately, we do not have nearly the same background in Skill Surf. Also, we would need a super good timer which we would either have to make (development time) or buy. 

     

    That being said, I'm not about to shut down the idea of adding the server, I'm just questioning how successful we'll be in expanding to it. 

     

    PS: This topic is about Zombie Mod and/or Hide and Seek, not Skill Surf.

    Please do not go around creating splinter servers, especially without consulting Staff first... we just had some drama regarding that literally days ago.

    Not necessarily. I believe the hardest part would be actually having the resources available. Honestly I'm confident any server will be populated so long as there is active development on the server (ie: staff members dedicated to it).

    We've tried having rules against "homophobic epithets" in the past however they don't work out very well in the context of this community specifically. Not only do members value that they are free to say what they wish, a lot of Staff (including myself) also agree that members of our community should have the freedom to express themselves however they wish (not including harassment, racism and PIP). Due to this, the rule against "homophobic epithets" was removed and was to be covered under harassment rules instead, which are far more lenient as they require proof of a pattern of harassment against an individual or group rather than someone saying "gay" or "faggot" in chat or over voice.

    One could argue that homophobic epithets rule should match the rules against Racism as the use of both portray the community in a negative light; however, as a society the Western world accepts homophobia much more than racism and as a society we've come to associate the word "gay" or "faggot" with "stupid" and "asshole" (or some variant thereof) respectively. Apply this to the context of the Internet and this community and it doesn't make sense to enforce the two in the same manner. Maybe someday in future this will change, but until then we as a community have decided to opt for freedom of speech/expression over militantly enforcing policies against homophobic epithets like "faggot" or "gay".

    It also makes my FPS go to shit and I know a couple other people have the same problem *coughmimiccough* but,if there was an overheat to it I think that would fix a lot of problems.

     

    I have no FPS problems from Human Marine. My thoughts are the race is more annoying than anything, and is really only useful on certain maps such as Office. That being said I think increasing the amount of health removed by Stim would help more than anything - as it stands you can sit there and spam it, and so long as you hit someone with bullets you'll get your health back.
