Republicans are in a tough spot.  On the one hand they're worried passing something noone likes will hurt them in the midterms.  On the other passing it might kill enough voters to get them ahead (i realize im exaggerating). Honestly i dont believe the repubs want to pass anything.  They want healthcare to forever be an issue their base gets energized about.  If they do their thing and people realize its garbage they lose their base

John McCain was totally playing 8D chess this week to humiliate Trump for belittling him from the very beginning. He returned to D.C. and voted yes to move the bill forward.  Giving Democrats the impression his brain cancer didn't bring a change of heart and Mitch McConnell false confidence that he could follow through bringing the bill to the floor so it could collapse spectacularly.
