Today we are removing two weapons from Competitive Matchmaking (the R8 Revolver and the Negev) as we make significant changes to them, and we are shipping some new features to help you build your social network as you play CS:GO.

 

– Revolver and Negev have been removed from Competitive Matchmaking as they undergo substantial revision.
– Revolver:
— Firing delay significantly reduced
– Negev:
— New attributes to promote suppressive fire.
— Reduced price.
— New sounds that dynamically indicate weapon accuracy.

glad they are removing things they are changing and testing from competitive play now, this is a much better approach than making a big change to the weapon system and just throwing it up on the live servers. I remember when the R8 first came out, it was literally a better awp for $700, and the time they also made the tasers super cheap but they still gave a ton of kill reward money so every round you'd just have some dude sitting in a corner waiting to taze someone.

The R8 left click is insane. If you check my steam you can see the distance and little opportunity(peak of my head showing) to hit me and it was on point.

this messes up my proffesional CSGO gameplay. my loadout was negev and R8. wtf why has lord gaben forsaken us, we show him love but he only hates. Still no half life 3.  the negev is a valuable item to SUPPRESS fire and draw fire from the enemies (sometimes too well) and the R8 is just revolver porn. imma cry now

Occasionally, but mostly as a meme or in a round before halftime.
