Yup.  There are valid things to associate with an entire group (e.g., It's not outlandish to say that Trump supporters support Trump and many of his policies, or that Liberals have belief contrary to conservatives), but to start associating all Trump supporters with the Alt Right, or all Liberals with anarchist groups is too far of a jump.
