AllTalk for WC3?

Recommended Posts

So @iafunky (and @demon?) helped fix the alltalk on the RPG surf server. I've played WC3 recently and a lot of people thinks it's kind of crappy that alltalk doesn't work on WC3. I know for a fact that @Towelie doesn't like the fact that we can't talk to the other team when we are alive. So I was hoping that someone else would agree and hopefully there will be alltalk on WC3 soon.

Valve added two new cvars (sv_talk_enemy_dead and sv_talk_enemy_living) to replace sv_alltalk. That's probably all it is.

Yeah, but we want to hear the other players. I'm asking if you can fix it so we can hear people on the other team that are alive.

I'm really no help here all I did was ask bullet to fix the sv_alltalk on the surf server. Which he preceded to add it to the server and was fixed on the map rotation.

I added sv_talk_enemy_dead 1 to the cfg as well but it sounds like that isn't the problem.

I guess it switches off for some reason maybe there's an auto exec that screws with it?

also war3.joinsg.net points to the right ip but to the wrong port, fix also pls :)

] connect war3.joinsg.net

DNS a records don't point to a port. This isn't how DNS works. You specify the port, we point the name to an ip

rip using war3.joinsg.net

also it seems to work now

War3.joinsg.net is working fine in your screen shot....

Host:port

Same as always, you have specified host and left out port.

Yeah that doesn't comfort a lot if it doesn't connect you to the server :P

He's saying you can use connect war3.joinsg.net:27020

But you should alias it anyways, makes life a lot easier.
alias war3 "connect 216.105.171.120:27020"

All talk should be fixed btw

You realize 90% of people who play on our servers aren't technical enough to know that...

It would be nice if we could have it set to the default 27015...

Sorry, can't do it. That being said once it's in your favorites it will save with the port.

Also the pop died before we moved to Chicago. Yes, we track population

Can I see these numbers?

In my experience, the population was fine when we moved to Chicago (Hell, the reason we moved is because LA always lagged because it ran 20+ players most of the time). After the move, it continued to be 20+ most of the time until we went down forever thanks to internap.

You can, scroll back to the pre move dates in panel

Either I have no idea what you are talking about, or I don't have access to it. My panel access is pretty limited.
