Hardboiled_Hobo 210 Posted January 1, 2014 To hack you he would need your steam id and password, and your email and password to your email. So i would create a new password for your email just in case.

Mmhm, hacking is at a new low folks, block everyone on steam or someone'll ask you for something and you'll get hacked. Coldfuse 324 Posted January 1, 2014 you clicked one of those stupid "free steam game" links didn't you Silly boy. This is serious he is probably upset don't be rude. I would say change your password for your email contact steam support, and think about anything you have done out of the ordinary. Such as Clicking a unknown link or hooking your account up to something like twitch (That is an example I am not saying Twitch will get you hacked I am just saying a form of link like that) if so try and unlink it. Good luck. 3 1 Ichalvl, Ika, Stabbitty and 1 other reacted to this

Vexium 35 Posted January 1, 2014 (edited) sucks that happened to you, but this can only happen if you left yourself vulnerable. unfortunately, at this point, i doubt there is anything you can do to obtain your items back. take the necessary steps to resecure your steam account, however. #1) Don't click on unknown links/invites to voice chat from strangers - your IP is obtainable from voice chat requests, so you want to have those automatically disabled. Only message friends. This is true for any online service involving money, frankly. #2) Secure your connection/computer. You likely have been traced for longer before now, and you have likely been keylogged at some point. This means you may very well have given them access to secure password information. A smart enough hacker can then go obtain any private information you have cached on your computer. Please take the following steps as a precaution from here on out. ------------------------- The following are the best freeware choices any person currently has access to to remove serious backdoor trojans, malware, adware, spyware, etc. Please use #1, #2, and #4 liberally. USE COMBOFIX ONLY WHEN ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.------------------------------#1 CCleaner: http://www.piriform.com/downloadclear out your registry errors, then do a full clean on all temporary files. After that, move out any unwanted/unknown Startup functions and Installations that are loading upon boot.#2 Spybot Search + Destroy: http://www.safer-networking.org/mirrors16/Update it, scan your computer, quarantine anything it detects.#3 Combofix: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/combofix/The end-all, be-all of malicious malware removers. This thing will crush anything that the other programs cannot kill. Be warned: if your computer has been infected so much that your core .dlls are unusuable without deletion, this will force you to partition a new drive upon restart - as a last attempt to salvage your computer.#4 Malbyte's Anti-Malware:In the future, I HIGHLY advise you install Mozilla Firefox, download AdBlock Plus, and finally, this is an absolute MUST: http://www.malwarebytes.org/ #5 NoScriptAfter downloading Mozilla Firefox (again, strongly recommend) or another browser that supports this, please download: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/noscript/ It is a little confusing at first, but this is your safest bet for careful web browsing. Can't tell you how many times NoScript has saved me from a javascript-injected virus/worm/malware/spyware. #6 ESET Node (Optional, if affordable/obtainable)http://www.eset.com/us/home/products/antivirus/ This is the most powerful Anti-virus all-in-one protection (not remover) on the market, as far as I know, for a reasonable price. It is used in corporate offices, and if you have the money, it's worth it. Of course, there are other ways of obtaining a copy.. which I do not condone whatsoever - save for trial offers. --------------- Good luck. Hope this helps all of you with safe browsing and safe computer use. Edited January 1, 2014 by Vexium
