Because most of the info involved characterizations of the victim that are completely unrelated to the actual confrontation. It's an over reaching attempt to balance out the early misrepresentation of the case in the media, neither side of which should have had influence on the verdict. What drugs Treyvon did or wanted or what a punk ass little bitch he did doesn't justify his death, only the specific facts of the altercation matter.

I attained from the video that the drugs and his background seems to make him an individual who is not how the media made him to be.  No one completely knows how the altercation began but knowing about each person before hand would help suppress the racial profiling involved.  Many people saw the case as a White on Black hate crime.  Of course if George didn't stop and talk to him then the whole thing would be avoided.  It's just that the fact he did and no one knows exactly what happened, all evidence should be available to figure out the true cause of the incident.
