Can somebody tell me what this does?

Recommended Posts

I discovered this while installing a new HD today. I dont know what the start and reset buttons do, so I am here to ask all of you what it is for. Answers? It is located at the bottom on my motherboard, under my graphics card.

It's for testbenches. Instead of shorting out the power pins by using a screwdriver or other device, you can just press the button to turn on the power or reset the system in event of a crash

My guess it would be that the start button makes it start, the reset button probably does something alone the lines of...resetting?

Restating the computer or resetting the BIOS? That is one of life's mystery.

I got the same, it's just the power button for your computer, and reset button when your system freezes. My case has a small button not far from the power button which is really useful for freezes. (Antec nine hundred two V3)
