North Korean Missile Launch delayed by Windows 8

Recommended Posts

I can see it now: "Hi, tech support? Yeah my missile won't launch...." "Did you try restarting your computer?"

North Korea’s official news agency announced today that the military’s planned missile test had been put on hold because of “problems with Windows 8.”

Intelligence analysts said that the announcement gave rare insight into the inner workings of North Korea’s missile program, which until last year had been running on Windows 95.

Its a fake article btw

Can you confirm? A lot of news sources confirm its real.

sources i found:

http://www.inquisitr.com/614597/north-korea-missile-test-delayed-by-windows-8-kim-jong-un-to-declare-war-on-microsoft/

NVM: found the source saying its fake. http://news.yahoo.com/north-korea-windows-8-andy-borowitz-yorker-common-121841344--politics.html

delete it. north korea isn't as stupid as we thought. I figured the new yorker would be credible, but I guess not.

It's not that it's not credible, you're just retarded. You reposted from a satirical blog. You know, they make fun of the news. Hence the subtitle under his banner "the news, reshuffled." A quick look at his other blog posts would have shown you that pretty quickly. http://www.newyorker...borowitzreport/

I figured reshuffled meant re-prioritized, not satirical. I didn't take time to learn more about his posts until I found out it was comedic. I simply based my decision on seeing the New Yorker site address and banner at the top. It seemed real enough that multiple news sources reported it. Also I would sure hate to have you do my IQ test. I fucked up and honed up to the mistake, gimme a break.

My point wasn't really that you made a mistake, but rather the fact that you blamed your mistake on the New Yorker somehow.

I figured the new yorker would be credible, but I guess not.

No hard feelings, just don't know why you blamed the New Yorker for something you didn't take the time to look into.

I did a little. A simple google search to see if it was real and from a quick look at the headlines and it seemed like multiple sources were reporting it. I didn't feel the need to go search his previous posts for credibility since I saw it was the New Yorker. I didn't think they would have a satirical news section. You leave that crap to the Onion.

how did this even seem realistic to you?

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if they were on windows 95. I believe South Korea bought drones from the US that were from the 70's or somewhere in that ballpark. I could see North Korea's military being cheap and using old software. And again, I'm not the only one that fell for this article.

Here are other sources that reported real as well.

I wouldn't know. Not too informed on what the military uses for programs.
