Smooth-eh 856 Posted March 31, 2013 Alright so pretty soon I will be purchasing a laptop for university and have a few software related questions for when the time comes. Firstly, I've read numerous posts from you guys bashing Nortons Anti-virus among others (which I understand because it's very demanding process wise). So what is the alternative? Malwarebytes?Secondly, recommend some programs you think are really helpful/awesome. (Nothing too obvious fgts)Thanks guiz

ChosenOne2000 4440 Posted March 31, 2013 Symantec Endpoint Protection: Department of Defense uses it. They give it to employees for free. I'm not gonna give it to you, but if you have a friend or relative in the government you can get it from them. 3 water.exe, IntoxicatedDog and Smooth-eh reacted to this

fontaine 1744 Posted March 31, 2013 nod32 is the best antivirus I've ever used. Really sleek and minimal and doesn't bug you about everything.

I figured the display resolution would be alright, but it ended up being a bitch when I go back and forth between my desktop and my laptop. It's not my sister's laptop :/.
