ZachPL 1754 Posted November 14, 2012 (edited) So it got here, everything except one of the waterblocks for the GPUs is now in my room. Just waiting for that and my freaking copy of Halo 4 to come in the mail nowAnyway, everything is still unopened save for the case, which I had to open lest I run out of freaking space in my room with the bigass box it came in sooooo, if you guys want a quick specialized unboxing video for any of these things (except for stupid stuff like the bags the fittings come in or the harddrive bag then Ill try and shoot a quick video and post it on yewtoobz... Mitch 2111 Posted November 15, 2012 I'm jelly foh.I hope it all works on arrival, nothing I hate more than DOA's.Post up your benchmarks when you get it up and running! If one critical part arrives DOA to Germany, I'm gonna roflcopter. Becuase I know it will kill him inside ro RMA that shit and wait for a replacement. You need to get as much sun as possible becuase I have a feeling you wont be seeing it once your gaming rig is built.if i had his setup i would never want to see the sun again 1 Windmill reacted to this

fatb0y 1337 Posted November 15, 2012 Nice build, I'm on the 3930. If you ever run into the need to expand data storage, I recommend you check out those hard drive docks with 2.5" TB drives.

Guest Fohacidal Posted November 18, 2012 So apparently I goofed. I had totally forgotten the FTW version of the GTX 670 is built on the 680 PCB and not the 670, so the 670 Heatkillers I got wont fit on the board. I have to buy the 680 version and put that on instead. For now Im gonna hook up as much as I can to get the computer running and Ill finish the loop for the 2 GPUs when the water blocks arrive... again. Guest Fohacidal Posted November 18, 2012 Updated status for it. As I had to re-order the gpu water blocks I put them in anyway just so I can get rid of the boxes and save some space in my room. I started hooking up some wires. Not too worried about my cable management at the moment, same goes for the water tubing. Small steps all the way. Speaking of steps, bought a whole new set of tools today so I can actually work at a decent pace. 4 ChosenOne2000, jc4x4, Mitch and 1 other reacted to this

Guest Fohacidal Posted November 19, 2012 (edited) New pictures, did a huge majority of the wiring, still a few things unconnected (motherboard and pump mainly) and a lot of the cable management is done as well except for in the back, which I will finish later. I also hooked up all the UV lights and "placed" the cold cathodes in the general vicinity of where I will have them secured/fastened in the case. This way I can get a good gauge of how the lighting will look and I can do stuff accordingly. I still have a strip of red leds I might put somewhere in the case as a sort of highlight, so it wont be the main source of light for the mobo compartment, Im gonna leave that to the UV and the UV reactive pumps and liquid that will be inside the case as soon as my 2 new waterblocks arrives.edit: I also want to add tonight was the first time turning on the AX1200 power supply. I had to put my ear next to the damn thing just to hear it because of how freaking quiet it is. Dojima 7619 Posted November 20, 2012 I'm more just curious what the device itself is, rather than the meaning of the numbers. There are old clocks with displays like that, but they're typically expensive and rare.
Guest Fohacidal Posted November 20, 2012 I'm more just curious what the device itself is, rather than the meaning of the numbers. There are old clocks with displays like that, but they're typically expensive and rare. Its a fan controller the uses pixie tubes to display the information that you want. At the moment the fan controller was displaying the current RPMs of the fourth fan

Guest Fohacidal Posted November 30, 2012 Just a little update no picturesSo to follow up on the waterblock debacle, I ordered 2 of the EVGA 680 hydro copper water blocks, 2 of the backplates for the 680 and the SLI bridge for the waterblocks. I am still waiting for that to come in the mail along with a radiator/fan shroud for the 3 fans I have on top.I did get another box from frozencpu with screws, fan cables, extenders and grills. So for now I have mounting hardware in place on the top 3 fans so the radiator and grills will be easy to install. I also bought 3 more fans and now have 6 gentle typhoons in a push/pull config on the radiator. I ended up setting it up to instead of 6 fans all needing 3 pin PWM ports i have the top and bottom corresponding fans linked together leaving just 3 PWM female connectors to plug into the fan controller. How I have it set up now is the #1 port on the fan controller controls the top and bottom fans at the far end of the case, the #2 port controls the middle top and bottom fan and the #3 port controls the top and bottom fans at the front side of the case. This way both fans can push pull running at the same voltage and generally within the same RPM range to avoid airflow troubles. At the moment all 6 are set at 6 volts or approx 950rpm max, they are also extremely quiet. As a bonus I had the cold cathodes secured inside as well as an led light "rope" hooked around to highlight the PSU and cables in the bottom segment of the case. I also worked on a bit of the cable management in the back so accessing certain things would be easier and so that stuff wouldnt bulge out too far, if at all. (I like things flat)
