Worth Buying?

Recommended Posts

It turns your desktop into a 3D Bubble, the video shows it being capable to play games and stuff as well. I'm not sure how well it would do with games such as CS or Diablo 3.. What do you guys think? Is it worth buying, and worth the money ($70). I was thinking of pre-ordering it, it'd be out around Christmas time this year.

I would have to see reviews from customers before i bought it. i wonder how well it works. it looked good in the video.

Kind of the one thing I'm skepitcal about. Debating on waiting just to see how well it works.

It's cool, and the price is right. The issue is software. No software is really designed around it yet, so there's no point to getting it. Playing a FPS or game like D3 on it would feel terrible.

So incase anyone remembers me posting about this, I got it today. It works pretty well, about where my expectations for something so new coming out would be. It's pretty awesome with Windows 8, it just takes some time to get used to the movements and how it reads your hand. The biggest downside is that there are only like 10 free apps right now, although one of them is touchless windows/mac so you can use it for a lot of your other apps/programs (although this will definitely have some updates in the future to work with them better).

I'd say the hardest part to get used to is getting the click down, especially on small spots. Overall, if you're into basically beta testing something, I would recommend it. As the apps come out with updates, and new apps come out in general, I look forward to testing them, and the quality should greatly increase.

If you read reviews that have been posted, it works great with some apps, others not so great - so it just depends on how well made the apps are.

might be a jazz hands app for it pretty soon!

There's actually an app that it downloads when you install their airspace store called the legend of jazz hands.

There's also already quite a few music making apps for it. I'm not really into that kind of stuff, but from what I've seen they look pretty cool.

I've played a few games with them - some flight simulators and stuff to kind of get the feel of how it'd work with a game, and it's working great - the only downside is that from app to app some things are different (ie the flight simulator to go up and down it's moving your hand up and down closer or further from the leap controller, where as other things it reads just your finger movement or whatever). In all, the more I've used it, the more I'm coming to like it.

Haven't figured out how to play on CS with it yet though - I can shoot, but I get stuck spinning in circles a lot.
