Even if you can be successful as a dropout, I'd rather learn as much as I can at a school. I'd try for degrees in more than one area if I knew that I could do it.

This. Either way both of them dropped out when they knew they had something that could carry them a long way. It would be smarter to continue school and learn as much as can while working on your project just in case it fails early on.
