Syndicate Gamers Digest Vol. 14 [3/18/2011]

Some of you may be surprised, but we have a new digest coming out again. We have a bunch of changes within sG and we hope many of these come as good news to many of you. Trust me, you will want to read the whole thing, and you will finish it being amazed at the amount of changes we have made. Each change we implement is hard work, but it's hard work.

Staff

Let's start off talking about all the changes within the management of sG.

Promotions

First off, we would like to extend our congratulations to Marvin. Many of you know Marvin as the man who handled your admin subscriptions, being the dilligent man who sets up your admin and makes sure you get what you paid for. We would also like you to congratulate Mitch, who is also being promoted to JCS. Mitch has been a hard working staff member for quite some time; recently, he was a great help to us in setting up our new Teamspeak server, he helped write several new recruitment/rank templates, and often gets us started when we start writing up these Digests. Thanks a lot Marvin & Mitch, you've earned it.

We are also moving Fatb0y from an Engineer to an Advisor! Congrats fatb0y!

Next off, we would like to give congratulations to both Super Novacaine and Empire, our JB and WCS Recruitment Officers. Both of them in the past few months have shown strong loyalty in sG and excelled at what they do. The staff have offered them positions as Advisor and they both accepted them knowing the level of commitment required to be an Advisor within sG. Please give them some props for taking on the challenge, and wish them good luck as Advisors in sG.

New Staff

We have promoted many new staff members in order to accomodate the growing activity level and size of sG. Many of you know we are on our way of becoming one of the biggest gaming communities out there, and we need an awesome team of staff in order to meet the demand and expectations from you guys. We hope with our new staff members, we won't fail to disappoint you guys.

First off, we would like to welcome diabeticdaniel, sketch[<3b] and TimeToDie as new recruitment officers! Diabeticdaniel has been a Veteran Admin for God knows how long in Jailbreak and a Server Officer in TTT, his valuable experience in moderating servers and handling people properly make him a indispensable recruitment officer. Sketch is also an old, yet still entertaining guy in sG as some of you may know. Yet, when it comes down to moderating and doing actual his job, sketch never fails to meet expectations. He will also be joining daniel as one of our new and awesome ROs. Finally, some of you old fogies and many new players will recognize TimeToDie. He is one of our oldest clan members and his experience from all of sG's history helps propel him to also be an excellent recruitment officer. Once again, congrats to the three new ROs!

Second off, we would like to welcome a couple new engineers. Clay and Guitar Guy have been invaluable assets - Clay being one of the people who helped revive WCS2 to it's former glory has rejoined the sG team of staff as an engineer. Guitar Guy on the other hand was another person who worked a lot with Clay on WCS2, in addition to the work he has done in WCS2, he is the main engineer behind our new, up and coming DarkRP server. Both Clay and Guitar Guy has the know-how to make our servers awesome and we hope you guys will give these guys pats on their backs, they deserve it.

Finally, we would like to welcome Scopene as an Advisor! Scopene has proven himself to be an invaluable asset in sG with his experience. He is a former server officer and veteran admin, helped with the technical end of our TTT server and is now heading the development of DarkRP. We would like to finally congratulate Scopene as an Advisor; Scopene, you have earned it.

Server Officers

Many of you who play on our Jailbreak or TTT servers may know that there is a refined way of how we give admin on those servers. We would like to introduce a new system known as Server Officers, for all our sG servers. Server Officers are veterans and experienced players/admins of their respective servers and this title will officially set them up to a higher standard. Server Officers are responsible for keeping their servers in control, they are given free premium admin to help moderate our servers. We would like to give all these guys props for stepping up the plate and helping make our servers better.

  • JAILBREAK - Hotsauce, Thorgot, Meowmix, Papa Secretten, Oreo, Skotti, n2f'wa, wind.exe, and Deltron
  • TTT - Tubbles, HoeStomper, Martyr Shu, Tristan, Tex1an2, Froot, n2f'wa, Shotgunsnipa

  • MINIGAMES, BHOP & CLIMB - Chaulket.Shake(Elmo)
  • SURF - Anonymous, Don Danzone

  • ZOMBIE ESCAPE - Firefighter_DK
  • WCS - iyedol, EchoFourTwelve, Mimic, and wind.exe
  • DarkRP - Chicago Ted

Remember, this list will be constantly changed - we will make an official thread that will always have the updated Server Officers and their servers.

ChosenOne has set a date for another one of his community poker tournaments. Plan to be there Friday, April 15th at 8pm Eastern time. Servers

sG | Dark RP

After many weeks of hard work and preparation, I am pleased to announce that the sG | DarkRP server is finally open to the public for BETA. We welcome any and all with open arms to enjoy the server. Hang out, make friends, build a kick-ass base with those friends, go on raids with those friends; the probabilities are endless. Special thanks to Guitar Guy for his creativity and hard work. Enjoy your stay at sG | DarkRP. If you have any questions/suggestions, post them in the designated parts of the forum, or contact Mitch, Guitar Guy, or myself.

sG | 10-Man Scrims

We are trying to bring back a 10-man scrim server, so our members can randomly scrim whenever they would like. Please stay tuned, we have a lot of other things going on in sG, but once we get all of those sorted out - we'll bring this back.

Ranks and Recruitment (R&R)

On behalf of the Advisors and ROs in R&R,

New Recruitment Process

We have changed the way recruitment works. In a few quick bullet points:

  • We require all players who wish to join our clan to have the same pre-requisites. One referral from staff, or two referrals from an elite/senior/veteran/legend. 100 forum posts. 50 server hours.
  • The player will then post a thread during the first week of any month with an application saying that they want to join our clan.
  • A staff member will briefly review the requirements and ask the recruit to do a screening.
  • A staff member will then post the screening, not the recruit.
  • Staff vote of +/-6 to get into sGr.
  • During the three weeks of sGr, the recruit will be thrown into a +/- vote out of 60. EVERYONE who is a clan member can vote. Community Members have their vote worth as 1 each, staff members have their vote worth as 5 each. EACH MEMBER MUST ALSO POST A REASON ON WHY THEY ARE VOTING YES OR NO.
  • At the end of the month. All the members who have vote counts of 60 get in, everyone else is denied and is free to re-apply in a month.

The new recruitment system will be outlined in detail in the sticky of the recruitment forum.

New Ranks System

We have also changed our ranks system, some of you may recognize it because it's adapted out of the original system proposed by Clay!

In short, we have brought back more levels of linear ranks and changed around the requirements for them. The next five rows are just for your reference - the same admin subscriptions and supporters as always (Premium, Premium + and Supporter) nothing too new/special about them.

What we've added is donor. A one time donation of 10$ will get you a heart at the end of your name and the ability for you to change your user title at your own will ;).

VIP/Legend/Server Officer are all given out based on staff needs. Server Officer is described above. Legend consists of various important and influential ex-staff members, while VIP consists of people who are helping sG on a major basis but don't want/need the staff title.

sG has, in recent times, evolved once again. With the expansion of populated servers we're proving we're still a viable, dynamic community to be a part of. Let's keep up the momentum, yeah?

Congrats new leadership, you deserve a lot of praise.
