CSS is Acting Weird?

Recommended Posts

Alright, so in the afternoon, I got a trojan. Yippee.

My mom was able to get rid of it, using system backup/restore. I set it back to today's date, before the trojan was downloaded.

When I first started from the restore, explorer was down. The internet was fine, I was chatting with Clay and all. But I couldn't connect to the internet via web browser. My mom fixed that too.

FINALLY, the BIGGEST problem, I can't fucking connect to CSS servers. Mainly sG's.

My connection to the server's used to be the fastest. We'd change maps and I'd be first one there most the time. Now, its horrible. If it does connect, it pauses for a good 30 seconds at the website with a white page marked "Loading..." at the top. If it doesn't connect, I can't exit. I have to use task manager to remotely shut it down.

Suggestions?

And btw, I already deleted all my skins/models/materials, which works better than reinstalling CSS. So that didn't help much.

System restore is shit for getting rid of viruses.

Go download malwarebytes anti malware

http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Install and do a full scan. You don't need to pay for it to remove the viruses/whatever.

Check your hosts file (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) and open it with notepad.

See if there's anything there other than the comments (Which begin with a #)

Sometimes there's

127.0.0.1 localhost

There. Just leave it. Delete anything else.

Still having problems after that, then completely re-install css.

Last resort -

Reinstall windows.

learn to be Asian, but I'm so lazy with viruses that I just reinstall windows every time I get a bad one

That seems redundant.

Sup brah. go to http://www.syndicate-gamers.net/forumdisplay.php/27-Tech-Center and post there or ask mitch. refering to badassmin's post

Was my original thought, decided to post here though.

This is a legit suggestion.

Re-install the operating system.

2 words. Fuck that.

What I got out of it.

"Reinstall CSS, then reinstall Windows if all else fails"

I'll try that.

Thanks guys.

super easyy????

Yeah it is actually. You put the disc in, click 5-10 times and wait an hour.

EVENTUALLY, you type your product-key.

LOL.

No, it isn't a virus. Check yourself.

http://www.google.com/search?q=malwarebytes+review&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:unofficial&client=firefox-a

IF you don't trust it though, then download and install Microsoft Security Essentials.

i have spyware doctor instead of malwarebytes. is that good?

No. IMO Malwarebytes is the most effective tool to remove spyware, malware, viruses, trojans, and worms.

Microsoft Security Essentials is free for everyone that has legit windows and is the best for real time protection.

Just go ahead and do what G.G. is saying,

if that fails let me know.

You will lose every file technically, which is why you backup.

lol anti virus

only reason I'm using one myself is because I won a free year key for Kaspersky on a torrent site (lulz)

Just reformat if you get a virus- it's easy and 99.9% of the time your computer is faster when it's rid of all the junk on it.

You must not know how to maintain your computer if it gets slow after a long period of using it. I spend about 20 minutes per week to make sure my system is running properly, and I only re-install to upgrade my operating system.

Same. Except more like an hour every couple months.
