i got that on my old rig, it was a piece of shit. but it only happened like once a month or so. and velosraptor, i think you have to type some sort of command for like DX80 or something (im guessing its DirectX 8.0) but im not sure..

im using dx7 now. everything's working fine, but the textures look like crap :/ i have no idea what to do..it just started doing it out of the blue one day. even a new os and steam installation didnt fix it. i even tried newer drivers too.

Setup:

MSI P6N Sli platinum (7350)

e7200 core 2 duo 2.56ghz

1gb ram

512mb pcie msi nx8400gs (apparently the rare red version that i havent been able to find any documentation about)

winxp with sp3 and latest dx9 updates
