To my understanding this is how it works. Basically, instead of a traditional light bulb that cars use now, it uses a camera and a projector. The camera sees the raindrop and the raindrop's location is processed to the projector. Because the light is coming from the projector and not a light bulb, individual pixels can be blocked out. So the light from the projector doesn't hit the raindrop, making it "invisible".
It basically just wouldn't light up the raindrop, but it probably wouldn't affect anything in the background all that much. It's not necessarily projecting a black pixel where it sees the raindrop. Instead it projects light everywhere except the raindrop's location.

How sure are you in majoring in Engineering? Is it something you know you want to do or is it just something you think you'd like to do.
If it's something you know you want to do, I'd go with University B. If you're unsure, University A is nice mainly only because of the co-op placements.
I've made a similar decision a couple years ago and I've realized that a lot of college is about networking. (Might be less true for Engineers though). The social atmosphere is what's going to attach you to your campus, it'll allow you to get to know people, form study groups easier in class and it seems like you'd generally enjoy yourself there. There's no reason to give up all of that. You'll have decades of time to be able to work for companies when you're done with college, college/uni should be the time where you learn a lot about life and yourself in general, in addition to the knowledge you gain in lecture.

I personally took advantage of a program similar to a co-op education system and I am currently a student teacher. Actually going into a classroom and teaching for weeks at a time really made me realize that it is something I want to do. It just goes back to what Mitch said, if you're not sure about what you want to do, you should probably go with University A.
But you really should enjoy yourself in college and if you feel University B will give you that, then that's great too. It will also give you the internship opportunity and that's obviously helpful for your future. That will also give you a good firsthand experience and help you figure out if it's right for you.
