Felicity 0 Posted August 4, 2008 AFROTC sends its cadets to Field Training (boot camp for officers) in the summer between their sophomore and junior years. As of this year all Field Training Units are at Maxwell AFB, Alabama, and are 26 days long. Unlike basic for enlisted, Field Training operates under the assumption that you should know everything on TD-0, so the pressure is intense from the first day. So anyways yeah, I'll be having 'fun' for the next month in Alabama, or as we prefer to think of it, HELL.Originally posted by Random cadet on FacebookHeat Index for the next few days is 106. Anything over 105 is considered danger and anything over 90 is Black Flag. It is predicted to get worst too as the even more extreme stuff in Texas is moving east.Sounds fun!Yes, it's so fun that PT is conducted at 0400 for safety concerns. Just about done ironing and folding and polishing everything, now I get to stuff it all into the old used vomit-scented duffel where it will get wrinkled and scuffed. Oh and after the first 11 days, it's group showers only (not mixed though). Meh, at least I'll get to look cool on the plane there; we fly commercial and get to wear our uniforms. bios 1 Posted August 4, 2008 Eh, don't worry. It's really not a big deal. It can't be any harder than Marine Corps boot camp. So it shouldn't be a problem. Prolly lot's of drill and classwork. Maybe mixed in you will have some PT, some obstacle courses, and maybe some firing squad training. More tactical stuff would be my guess.

Felicity 0 Posted August 5, 2008 Plane leaves at 0630 tomorrow morning. Oh and I'm getting this nauseated feeling packing my BDUs. Hours spent starching and ironing those bastards and they get to sit in a crappy duffel for 24 hours folded and compressed. :(((((((
