fatb0y 1337 Posted July 8, 2008 get a shittier/cheaper case, and apply that money you save into getting a better cpu.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115037freezer pro 7 is a very good HSF imo....
sky 0 Posted July 8, 2008 Both those cpu are bad. Get the E8400 or the E6750 if u cant afford E8400.
Anathema 0 Posted July 8, 2008 In regards to your RAM question, DDR2 will work regardless of GPU memory type. If you're going to get some RAM, get like 2gb OCZ Reaper. It's 800 mhz but because of the cooling you can OC it to more no problem.
Beefwipe 11 Posted July 10, 2008 Looking good.
Guest starscream Posted July 10, 2008 Looks like I TOO will be getting a new pc.. been a long time since I've built my ownthe only specs I require are:-fucking fast. im in the air if its Intel or AMD, but Ill stick with GeForce-around 1200$ give or take- black case-RAID 0 -a medium amount of data storage, more concerned with access speed / transfer, as i plan to build a fileserver wtih a few TB later-going to dual boot XP pro / Linux
Succulent 0 Posted July 10, 2008 EDIT: I'm remaining neutral. But the 9600GT is overpriced for the performance you get. Just go 8800GT. You'll be oodles happier. And it will laster longer technology wise.
Zan 14 Posted July 10, 2008 Get 4gb of ram, trust me, you will be happier.
Beefwipe 11 Posted July 10, 2008 No, 2 gig.4 gig is useless unless you have 64bit vista.
S.oviate 34 Posted July 10, 2008 No, 2 gig.4 gig is useless unless you have 64bit vista.Exactly, Sticking to XP all the way.**Anybody got suggestions for Power Supply?**
Anathema 0 Posted July 11, 2008 Get a 800w or more PSU so it lasts you several upgrades. Be sure you pick a quality brand too, if something is more expensive from a trusted company it's likely because it's quality. Thermaltake and Rosewill are pretty good brands. As for Xion cases, my brother had a Xion II case and it served well. A big downfall to it is that to open the side you have to do lots of unscrewing. The Xion II is pretty cheap too, but look into other cases because they might suit your set up better. Just be sure to read lots of reviews on whatever you're buying. Guest some fag Posted July 11, 2008 Thermaltake's lower end PSU's have a nasty habit of sparking and catching fire, but Rosewill is good. If you're getting a 1000+ Watt PSU, Silverstone is the way to go.
sky 0 Posted July 11, 2008 Lol dont ever go for xion cases so cheap, and u get what u pay for. My cousin has one it all plastic, it has like 2 fans and it small.
Nitestalker 792 Posted July 11, 2008 SKy your cousin must be as smart as you to buy a case like that. Xion cases arent actually bad. go to their site, they make cases for any type of computer with any number of fans in them, mine right now has 6 fans in it and my computer is perfectly cool. Guest Fohacidal Posted July 11, 2008 It might not be 50 bucks but NZXT has some very nice cases, Im currently using the Lexa (not the blackline, which I would love) Its VERY spacious, has commendable cooling, looks really cool, has a temp gauge, lock on the side and an easy installation system for both cards and drives
sky 0 Posted July 12, 2008 I would recommend antec, cooling master, or some other good company.

Anathema 0 Posted July 12, 2008 The Soprano is nice, although I've heard some mixed reviews about it. The Kandalf LCS though... Oh baby.
sky 0 Posted July 12, 2008 Doesn't that one have built in watercooling?(kandalf) but it pretty expensive.
Anathema 0 Posted July 12, 2008 Yeah it's expensive, and fucking heavy too. It's really just for really high end computers.

Levyon 0 Posted July 21, 2008 I have a Rosewll case and PSU, both are great. Rosewill cases(depending on what you buy) are low to midrange and they love the color blue PSU has blue LED and case is awsome.
