Coffee Lake

Recommended Posts

So, this could be the most significant generational leap in performance between comparable SKUs in years with Intel... and with a refresh, no less.

Think Intel is pricing these like this because it's feeling the heat from Ryzen?       (after posting this, I realized that this is an epic pun. R-R-ROASTED, AMD - literally)

Who's thinking about upgrading? I'm definitely going to be building a new PC pretty soon, and I'm hex-core or bust now.

(One glowing review among many)

Though, there have been issues with overclocking and voltages in BIOS like there was with the Ryzen release. Is this becoming a trend where post-launch optimizations are crucial to performance?

To be clear, the blame for this ^ in particular rests solely on Gigabyte and MSI :cmonBruh:

It does seem to be the case sadly. x299 also had a lot of issues due to lack of preparation time. Coffeelake seems REALLY promising. A decent gain in IPCs and a 2 core 4 thread bump while being able to OC to 5.0 GHz (probably binned)
