Gaming Laptop

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, so I'm wanting to get a good yet cheap gaming laptop for myself while I'm out here in two months for my Technical Training. I'm looking for something that will be able to play most games (for example: CSGO, GMod, Rocket League, Call of Duty, and etc.) around maybe medium settings, but I would be down for better if my price range allows.

I'm looking for somethig around $800 or less, and will not exceed $1,000 at most. I here MSI is a really good brand, so this is the one I've been looking at lately:

Any thoughts or better laptop suggestions please comment below! (ditto)

I personally have heard good things about the MSI that you are looking at, and i even think one of my friends has it and loves it.

But i have the https://www.adorama.com/us 883010.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw2s_MBRA5EiwAmWIac2Xk2hbh0PspJELoVHavPCCqS2PjmsHJLxuIxZ4iT32JLOkrlp6dORoC7rwQAvD_BwE (alienware) costs around $830 so a little bit more but i love this thing to death. :)

Mmm Asus brand ROG laptops are pretty good. I bought one in 2011 and it still can play games quite well although it is finally starting to clock out with newer games. I think it has a 560m in it.

Has a 950M at $730

$1100 with a 1050.

These are just some options and also depends on if you want something bulky or not. From my own experience ASUS products are pretty good. Take a look around between sellers and add this brand to your list of options.

960m is last gen. Don't waste your time with that. Check out the new 10 series laptops, they're specifically designed to be more efficient with heatsinks and temps overall

Last gen stuff isn't outdated and dead. For cost purposes it is completely normal for people to avoid the new gen stuff because it's expensive. My desktop is still using a 780 and runs new games just fine. A 9 gen laptop card is obviously better then what I have in my desktop.

Just quoting your last part as it is not necessarily true. Mobile graphics are not that good and they lose their worth very very quickly. I'm willing to bet that your 780 runs games better than any 900m series graphics card.

@just reX posted this last night with the intention of buying it. 1,000 dollars and comes with and Rx580(regular gpu) and a i7-7700HQ(mobile cpu). Only thing is that it's made by HP(Omen Series) so I'm not sure how reliable their products are, but just from the specs alone doesn't seem like a bad buy. Also, at BestBuy students get 100$ off so can help with taxes

Even though this is late I have a MSI gaming laptop it works great, probably a bit overpriced but at the time had the specs I wanted.

I never use it though since whenever I game its generally from home, I probably wouldve been better off buying a surface.
