Could I build off of this, or better off starting fresh?

Recommended Posts

What's up guys, so as most of you may know, I don't have an actual gaming PC. Last year, on my birthday, my parents bought me an ASUS M32AD. Overall, it isn't bad for playing stuff like CSGO, Call of Duty, Rocket League, etc. but, I always have to have them at the lowest settings. I was just curious if maybe there was some way I could just upgrade certain parts on this PC I already have (like maybe graphics card, GPU, CPU, etc.). I have no experience with building a PC, and know nothing about building a PC. So, I apologize ahead of time if this post seems stupid because maybe there's no way I could upgrade this current PC. I'll post specs and pictures down below. Thanks guys!

adding a graphics card will be night and day for you. a GTX 1050 will run you ~$150

you have a pci-e 2.0 x16 so you won't get the FULL benefit, but dedi graphics card is a huge upgrade for you. Your next biggest noticeable upgrade would be putting your OS(and games?) on an SSD

this could prob extend your PC's life for another couple years. When you build a new pc, you can keep your ssd/graphics card so you can save some dough

P.S. you may need to upgrade that power supply to a 500, i haven't done any research on the power requirements for a gtx 1050.

i do not think the i5/i7 or ram will provide a noticeable difference in gameplay. the ssd and dedicated graphics card will. most gamers will not fully utilize even 8G of ram nor all cores with multicore procs. the i3 has pretty stellar single core performance, which is best for MOST games.

Thank you so much, driz! Would you mind maybe linking me to everything you said would be a good upgrade for me? I have some friends who could help me with putting everything together, and maybe they could teach me more about building a long the way, but like I said I'm a noob at all of this, so if you could give me direct buy links to everything you recommend, that would be awesome!

@driz off topic but... What's better The i3 or the AMD 6300?

i haven't used an AMD or ATI product since the AMD Athlon 64. you can probably just google i3 XXXX vs amd 6300

Yes i agree with the others, upgrade the processor and get a GPU. Depending on how much power they draw you might need a new power supply. Do what Driz says. I personally dont think RAM is the priority to upgrade.
