Dray 163 Posted June 7, 2016 So recently I just recieved my new graphics card (gtx 460) I installed it , I reconnected the hdmi plug to my graphics card , I booted my computer up and there was no display on my computer , meaning there is no hdmi input although all of the cables are perfectly connected including the hdmi If anyone knows how to fix this or if there is some explanation to this all of your feedback is really appreciated. *edited a spelling error*

Rootbeer 1293 Posted June 8, 2016 Make sure you plugged your HDMI cable into the right port. Common mistake is to plug it into your motherboard's HDMI port, which might not do anything. You wanna plug it into your graphics card's port instead.
cookie eater 965 Posted June 8, 2016 Well go through the basic trouble shooting steps.. You just need to do some process of elimination. Try using the on board video and see if that works make sure the new graphics card is compatible with the build make sure the new graphics card is 100% plugged in make sure the cables are both secure make sure the tv/monitor is on the correct hdmi setting. try using the old card and see if that works find, if so you might have a bad card disable onboard video like Duex said Listen for beep codes or look on the back for some type of errors, including on the POST test. Some Mobos allow for a more detailed test for video etc.. see if you can run one of those. Some of these seem obvious, but when I worked Mediacom "tech savy" people would skip the most basic steps.
