So do they hire monkeys or what?

 

We have two choices where I live with internet (There are other providers but they require a dish which we cant have), Mediacom or Centurylink and where I live specifically I can choose Mediacom 150 Mbs Down and 15 Up or Centurylink 1.5 DSL Down and 0.65 Mbs DSL up, But theres always a trade off. Mediacoms support is trash and this is my experience I just had.

Me: My Modem is failing to forward the ports correctly and I think it might be a hardware or software issue with the modem.

Me: Yes..

 

Indian Doode: Which are you wanting to forward for? Xbox or PlayStation?

 

Me: Neither, I want to forward HTTP and port 27015 on my modem.

 

Indian Doode: You want to forward HTTP on your Playstation sir?

 

Me: No for my computer.

 

Indian Doode: Sir, we can only forward ports for the Xbox or Playstation.

 

Me: The forwarding of ports is not the issue, the fact that the ports are not saving and opening is.

 

Indian Doode: You need to contact your network administrator to fix that problem, its your network that is blocking it not our modem.

 

Me: ... You know what.. I DO want my Playstations port to be forwarded.

 

Indian Doode: Great! What is the IP Address of the Playstation (I tell him the local ip of my computer)

 

Me: 192.168.0.10

 

Indian Doode: And you want to forward port HTTP?

 

Me: Yes. Please forward port 80.

Indian Doode: SIr it looks like port 80 is already open on your Playstation.

 

Me: Now you see my problem, Its not actually open. It says it is, but its not.

 

Indian Doode: Sir you need to contatct Playstation for that issue.

Me: So I need to call Playstation about my Modem not opening my ports correctly? 

Indian Doode: Yes sir.

 

Me: Is there any way I can get my modem replaced?

Indian Doode: Its not the modem that is broken sir, its your Playstation.

 

Me: CAN I GET MY MODEM REPLACED?

Some call centers use fake names for safety purposes, and yes, they do hire absolute fucking retards. Unless I'm calling a hardware manufacturer about RMA's, I just request to speak to a manager or higher-tier tech support that actually has a clue
