What is it?
A bunch of people playing awesome games as quickly as possible for seven days straight, and it's all live!

When are they playing my favorite game?
The schedule is updated every 5 minutes. Check it often!
http://gamesdonequick.com/schedule

Where can I watch a run I missed?
Reddit will compile some VoDs and a few youtube channels will too, I'll link them here

Why should I donate?
All the donations go straight to charity! And if that's not a good enough reason there's a bunch of special events
The charity for SGDQ is Doctors Without Borders (http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/)

Also, if you sub to the Games Done Quick twitch channel (http://www.twitch.tv/GamesDoneQuick), 100% of your subscription will go straight to Doctors Without Borders. This counts towards your total, so be sure you PM me!

How do prizes work?
For the grand prizes you'll be entered based on your total over the course of the marathon. For a minimum donation of $20 total, you'll be entered to win a Majora's Mask New 3DS XL. For $30 you'll be entered to win a 500 GB PS4, and for $50 you'll be entered to win an Alienware Area-51 Gaming Desktop.

For game specific prizes (https://gamesdonequick.com/tracker/prizes/16) you need to donate over the minimum bid during the game the prize is associated. It doesn't matter if they read it during the game -- if they receive it at the right time, you're entered. You can only enter once, as long as your donation (or multiple donations during the same game) surpasses the minimum required.

How do challenges work?
With any donation, you can pitch it towards one of the 'challenges'. These are things like bonus levels, hardest difficulty runs, one-handed runs, playing through DLC levels, etc.

Full list of challenges to bid on: http://gamesdonequick.com/tracker/bids/16

Make sure you're not pitching your money towards a goal that's already met! If you do however, feel free to contact the SDAMarathon mod in the IRC channel to have your money applied to a different challenge. (Connect to Quakenet either on the marathon page or in your IRC client and join #sdamarathon. Can't talk? You'll need to register with Q, their nickserv bot, in order to talk. Go here to find out more: http://www.quakenet.org/help/q/how-to-register-an-account-with-q)

How do I get involved in speedrunning?
It's easy! Find a game you like, and play it. Check Twitch and see if anyone else is playing it, then watch them! Stream yourself playing and talk to the people who join. Race on SRL. If you need help figuring out how to stream, ask! Also check out some of these resources:

That timing, I tune in and it's my favorite speedrunner (trihex) running my favorite game (Yoshi's Island).

Nooo I missed it. Didn't realize SGDQ was so close until I saw the DKC3 run ):
