HurFFiNatEr010 460 Posted July 26, 2013 Okay so I found an old monitor that I would like to setup as my second screen... But it only has a VGA cable output and my video card doesn't have a VGA slot. I looked through all my wires and have no adapters. So that being said is it possible to hook it up to my motherboard and have it run with my other screen? or am i going to have to go buy an adapter? DogsGoMeow 1606 Posted July 26, 2013 I think the slots on the motherboard are for use with the integrated graphics that would be in the cpu itself.Though someone correct me if I'm wrong. And ewwwww VGA...=/ 1 splewis reacted to this
Ika 320 Posted July 26, 2013 I have my GTX460 outputting DVI to one monitor and my onboard graphics outputting VGA to my second monitor. Try it.
TurtleFrenzy 2612 Posted July 26, 2013 It'd be easiest just to buy an adapter.

_kyle_ 318 Posted July 26, 2013 (edited) the motherboard one is for integrated graphics. You need an adapter if you want to connect to graphics card They're only like a dollar usually Edited July 26, 2013 by _kyle_
Spell 331 Posted July 26, 2013 Normally when you install a secondary graphics device, such as a graphics card, it disables any on-board or integrated graphics. Check your bios settings when you boot up and see if integrated graphics are disabled.
