Depends on the class I suppose. Syntax and phonology don't work like that.

I had a take home final for an abstract algebra class and that thing took forever. I had a week to get it done and each problem took like 3-4 hours.

Online multiple choice exams are even better, especially the ones where you can copy and paste the question into Google and the answer is the first result.
