I think this is a good thing, but they're not doing anything wrong. We live in America and all of us get free speech and this should not exclude some people. I don't believe in what this church has to say, but they have a right to say it and if we try to take that away we are crushing freedom of speech.

would we be trying to crush freedom of speech? because that is a very gray area. We know for example you freedom of speech if revoked if you scream fire in a movie theater so if you cause physical harm to someone because of what you said, you can be tried as if you physically wounded the person, but why is it that dealing physiological damage to someone is ok? and before you say "what they do causes no physiological damage" perfect example is the Connecticut shooting, lets say you are one of the kindergartners and you survived and are now at the funeral of someone who saved you or one of your friends. You have already receive deep physiological wounds, and you may never become who you once were. So now add these people to the church and be that physiologically scarred child hear people say through the ceremony that the reason your friend, teacher, etc died was because god wanted it so, or because there are gay people in the world.Maybe at first you wont think it true but with time these things will pop back into your head, you are already physiologically weak and easily influenced by your age and the events that just happened and this would cause you to unnecessarily blame others for what happened. So now i ask you, do you honestly say we would be crushing freedom of speech by stopping these people ?

What really needs to happen is not label them a hate group but somehow figure out a way to get them all disbarred.

Like I said the petition is a good thing and I do hate what this church does, but if we stop this group from saying what they want then what's next? This would cause so many other petitions towards other groups of people just because people hate what they say. I am just saying we need to look at what it would do to other/ future groups. It is horrible what they do at funerals and yes I think something needs to be done about it, but I don't think we need to take away their voice all together, maybe restrict them from funerals or something.
