Wow... Can you say HD 3870 killer? If this card can produce the same performance as the old GTS, at a price point of around 200 dollars or less, ATI is done for, as far as their current cards are concerned.

This new card will have 384MB of GDDR3 video memory, a 192 bit memory interface, 96 stream processors, full support for PCI-E 2.0, and the same G92 GPU that is incorporated with the 8800GT and the newest version of the GTS.

ATI is gonna' have even more trouble trying to hold on with this new release if it holds true to XFX's performance speculations.

Those who were hesitant to upgrade no longer need to worry...

ATI still around? Damn. It's kind of like someone you thought was dead showing up for dinner, then reminding you why you never liked them in the first place.

man, that is still slower than an 3850.

That is still using 65 nn technology while ATI has jumped to 55 nn technology. That means that the ATI can do the same as GeForce but will less power and quicker times

.Let me give you specs of an ATI 3850 and a GeForce 8800 GTS. Both cost the same

Spec ATI GeForce

GPU 668MHz 513MHz

GDDR3 Memory 512MB@1665MHz 320MB@1600MHz

memory interface 256-bit 320-bit

Stream Processors 320 96

So it still got a bit to go before it beats the buget gaming card of ATI

The specs of the 8800GTX are technically lower than those of the HD 2900XTX, I believe, but it still performs better.

Oh, and BirdTerd, this is the new bottom of the line 8800. Its to allow those who don't want to spend GRATUITOUS AMOUNTS OF MONEY on a graphics card, but would still like great performance. If the XFX's speculations on the performance are true, then this will be a very good deal at 150-200 bucks, and ATI will pretty much be dead for competition.

ATI's new line of cards provides near 8800GT performance, cheaper, and even more so when the cost drops to their recommended prices.
