AnarchyX6942 0 Posted December 29, 2007 I don't really know much about 64 bit, but i just wiped my comp and am lookin into installin it. Is it worth it? I've heard stories of certain programs not running on it, but others have told me that everything is a bit smoother.
Øpiate 30 Posted December 29, 2007 The only real benefit that I know of is that you can use more RAM with a 64 bit OS. I had XP professional 64bit at one time and a lot of programs were buggy. It crashed a lot too. For gaming and stability, plain old 32 bit XP is still king, IMO.

Some programs are not compatible for 64 bit windows. Even the programs that do work typically run on 32 bits.
CoinStar 191 Posted December 29, 2007 Unless you plan on using over four gigabytes of RAM, don't get it.
