Buying a new computer Suggestions?

Recommended Posts

Well title say's all. I installed a new graph card and lost 54GB of important work files I needed. Don't ask how that happened but it completely demolished my current computer.

So now I can barely play css.

My price range is about $4,000

I know that's a fair bit but I've been saving it up for a while.

I'll prefer a computer with a good graph card, Memory etc etc to play games that need good memory and graph cards.

Considering my computer is SHIT anyways, I can barely play css on high detail =.=

Thanks guys.

I need a good computer for working files. I can have up to 20GB of files from work.

So I need a computer that will last and not fuck up.

Plus I need a computer that can handle the program I use for office duty's at the barracks. It takes up allot of memory. About 50mb each person I add into the system.

& What are you trying to point out? Gonna start trolling Me? Ha ha.

$4,000 AUD is $3,616 USD.

Actually, I Would only need a tower, Within a reasonable price range, I just though if I actually spend less, My girlfriend wont be pissed of when she finds out we wont be having a 10 Grand honey moon. Ha ha.

Tower would do, I already have a 2.5k Computer as a gift from my girlfriends dad. The monitor is like the size of a medium plasma screen, Got about 23 camera's plugged in around my house because of her dad, Over protective.

But Yeh I would appreciate it if you could help me out man.

That looks alright, I'll write down a list and go shop for it within the next week. My boss is going to rage at me when he find's out I lost over 300 new recruit's records. =/

Thanks for the help man.

Normally those onboard RAID controllers are slower. You could add another $340 onto that for a RAID controller card that has it's on built in memory

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816116042

However, I am not really an expert on RAID. It probably doesn't matter for the things you are doing just as long as you have the drives mirrored somehow.

make sure you get a good processor, and ram obviously, but for ram i think 4gb or higher would be fine, and processor try anything above 3.0 duo core. NVIDIA 8400 or higher will be fine for a graphics card =] those are just A FEW basics but that will start you out well..

Keep in mind that this rig should offer solid performance for the money. Keep in mind that you might need periphals as well, in which case you should check out later on in the month if you are interested.

Alienware computers are best, but their costly. If you could save up some more money; then you could get one of these.

alienware = shit

Brb getting knowledge on what i'm buying instead of wasting 1.5x the money I should for a logo.

mac are only good if you're in the online multimedia industry (such as video editing and graphic design and film maker, etc.)

Both are overpriced.

Build a custom comp if you care for gaming.

if you don't have the money, why are you getting a new comp? just upgrade what you currently have.
