They're not going to make an entire system specifically for your truck I don't think. I mean they might, but you mainly look for mufflers in diameter of the inlet and outlet, as well as the size engine they're meant for, not the type of vehicle.

I would say don't do glass packs, because they sound cheap and cackle too much for my taste, I'm more of the deep throaty sound. If you have the money, Corsa all the way, I love the sound. I would say maybe do True Dual with 2 super 44's or 40's (Flowmaster) Or 2.5" straight pipes, go with long tips, they sound better, like 3x12" or 4x12" are pretty standard. Or, if you want a cheap alternative to 44's, go with Thrush Welded mufflers. I would do straight pipes if I were you, as I know alot of people that get mufflers that just chop them off because they want something louder, like even me, I have no mufflers, but almost want louder, I might chop my cats off, or put a butterfly valve. Its all up to you though, I LOVE the way my truck sounds, and I get alot of compliments, it doesn't sound like the normal straight pipes.

The whole point of a glass-pack is to get as close to straight pipes as possible while still being legal. Glass-packs and straight pipes sound VERY similar, only one is legal, though, and the other is not.

Not really, there is a truck in my town just like mine, except extended cab, but has the 5.3l, and it doesn't sound anything like mine, sounds pretty bad. Maybe things are different in Missouri, but in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Tennessee its Illegal to have ANY modifications to your exhaust system, though cops are pretty lenient, as long as you aren't do burn outs and flooring it all the time.

They sound very similar. You have to remember, a glass-pack is STILL a muffler. Straight pipes are not street legal, and for what it's worth, glass-packs are the closest things to straight pipes thats still legal. And also, straight pipes put off a LOT more cackle than glass-packs.

Nor are any aftermarket mufflers or anything in Illinois, and states around it except Missouri. If they are true straigh pipes and true duals then yes, they will cackle more, but you get an even bigger ticket for no cats. I am almost sure any mods to your exhaust system are illegal in bob's state too.

And there is a reason to have cats and bends. Your engine needs some backpressure to run correctly, or else you lose low end torque.

Bends don't add much back pressure, and neither do catalytic converters (they convert some of the harmful exhaust gasses to harmless gasses). It's the muffler that adds back pressure. And even then, you're not going to loose much torque from straight pipes. The only thing you truly risk is burning up your valves.

Where the fuck do you get that it's illegal to modify your exhaust? I think you need to reroute yours away from the cab...

However, they can nab you for anything else such as cat-cutouts or muffler cutouts, or a lack of either of the two, because a vehicle can't pass inspection without one (except cats if the vehicle was produced before 1987, or something like that).

Nope, people use that excuse around here all the time. Never has worked. The only people they go after are the ones that are obnoxious and rev it all the time, if you just drive normal, maybe rev a couple times, nothing over the top, they don't care what kind of exhaust you have.
