Ode to the Uses of Duct Tape

I wrote this awhile ago and found it on my computer. Decided to share here (WHY NOT?!). It sucks, I know

Grey and simplistic forms its nature,

Able to bind the hardest together.

Tightly wrapped around a cardboard roll,

One strip of the adhesive can patch a hole.

Down in the basement, a leaky pipe,

One simple object can seal it up tight.

After years of misuse of a forgotten book,

Bind it together for a more pleasing look.

Maybe an object that broke into pieces,

Stick it together with a little elbow grease.

Have a picture that keeps falling down?

Use a bit of duct to keep it off the ground.

Cleaning a fabric, one can entrust

In a piece of duct tape to pick up the dust.
