Mimic 3307 Posted August 20, 2009 I'm been having problems with the sound in ubuntu, At first I could hear nothing at all (no vent sounds / youtube etc), I fixed it by adding:options snd-hda-intel model=lenovo-101e position_fix=1into "/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base"Now, however, my problem is that I cannot hear any sound through my Sound Jack headphones. I've tried muting the Master Channel (along with every other combination of channels). Also, when I try to turn my headset up by typing "alsamixer" it won't go up.Halp? Mimic 3307 Posted August 20, 2009 actually, also post the output of # idMake sure your in the audio group..When I'm logged in as root, and added myself (jacob) (adduser jacob audio) to the audio group, and I log in as jacob and type "groups" audio doesn't appear. It didn't help when I tried sudo groupadd audio then adding myself to the group. The id output after doing this is:jacob@ubuntu:~$ iduid=1000(jacob) gid=1000(jacob) groups=4(adm),20(dialout),24(cdrom),46(plugdev),106(lpadmin),121(admin),122(sambashare),1000(jacob)Edit: It may take awhile to respond to some of your answers, Crothers, because I still like to play CS:S when booted on Windows Vista.
